Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of healthy things I can have on toast for breakfast?

I LOVE peanut butter but it's not very good for you, so I want to find a replacement.

Thanks :)

Unless you have an allergy, peanut butter is good for you.

To change it up a bit I use hummus with a little sriracha on top, or some egg salad.

    Eta spelling sriracha

Egg, bacon and cheese, peanut butter and banana, butter and jelly. Peanut butter isn't bad for you, it's just caloric.

I microwave an egg and put it on my toast. It's like an open faced sandwich of delicious.

In Edwardian London in a "Chop house" you could get a pork chop on toast with a side order of mustard and cheese.

    Tis' awesome!

Peanut Butter isn't bad for you. I eat it every morning in my oatmeal.

But, your question is about alternative toppings for toast:

Mayonnaise, tomato, avocado and black pepper
    Cheese and honey
    Cucumber, salt and pepper
    Banana, cinnamon and honey
    Hummus
    Avocado
    Egg
Bacon (even better is bacon on top of Peanut Butter)

I do a tablespoon of hummus, a handful of arugula, and top it off with grape tomatoes, a fried egg, and hot sauce. It is seriously the most delicious thing ever!

If you are worried about the calories in penut butter you could try using PB2.. :) otherwise just use peanut butter & count the calories into your day it's not bad if your not eating a jar a day ;)

Peanut butter is good for you! You just have to measure it out because it's so calorie-dense. Also good on toast:

    hummus
    ricotta cheese
    any cheese
    refried beans
    eggs

If I'm going to have toast, which is less than 1X/week, I load that thang up with margarine and strawberry jelly.

Probably not your definition of healthy.

I read this as "heavy things on toast" so why not throw on a 45 pound plate for some iron?
