I walk everywhere in town. My parents are physically incapable to walk the 5k almost daily I do for errands. Go to IGA, gas station, pharmacy, post office, fitness studio, coffee shoppe, jp Gifford (catering and health food market), food bank etc. On occasion I'll walk to the park, or the fair grounds if there's something going on. I live in a town where everything closes at 5pm, except for the gas station which closes at 9pm.
There was once someone on my FL who bashed me saying that my errands were not "on purpose" and that I should only log "on purpose" workouts.

Ignore that person. There are days where I log walking to the local Publix. My nike app says 84 calories so that is a workout.0

That's A WHOLE LOT of steps.. people have different definitions on what makes up a workout. If you walk MILES during the day it is significant enough that you have to log it. Continue on and ignore the haters.0

Well they must be right. Don't you know that the only place you can burn calories is in a gym. All that walking, all that work you do around your house and elsewhere doesn't burn any calories at all?
/snark off.
Ignore the trolls. Don't feed them.0 -

I say remove from friends list.
And I don't know why people take their workouts so serious. Question for the ages.0 -
If you walk that much on a daily basis it might be easier to change your activity level, than the log/eat back method.0

Keep walking.0 -
It really depends on how you've set up your account. If you already claim to be active and have a calorie goal set as such, you ahouldn't be logging a lot of the walking. If you said you are sedentary, log it all!0

Actually they are the ones not taking physical activity seriously. I had a job where I would burn oh around 2000 calories a day, that wasn't my TDEE or total burn, my TDEE was over 4000 a day. If I hadn't eaten enough to keep up with my burn (unfortunately I ate more than I needed), I would have been skeletal, within months. The same for people who do a lot of activity and ignore that fact. One of two things happen. They don't eat enough and mess up their metabolism and stop losing or they mess up their metabolism and lose but they lose much slower than is necessary. Ignore them, they would lead you to a bad place.0
