Resting Heart Rate...What is yours?

I was looking into a healthy resting heart rate today and was pretty happy with my findings. I know when I started this journey my resting heart rate was 95ish.....today....61! I am one or two points off of being in the athletic category, which just amazes me since I am just pulled out of the morbidly obese category...I guess all that time on the elliptical is really paying off.
So what is your resting heart rate???
Here is a link to a chart I was using:

Excellent!!0 -
Using my HR monitor if i am totally relaxed and laying down around 50. Sitting and relaxing 55-600

60 to 80 for me...........and when I use the tread mill, I get it up to about 120s............thats fine with me
my blood pressure is in the 110s / 60s, another accomplishment............Lloyd0 -
Usually between 56 and 62. Currently it's 56.0

About 55 in a pretty relaxed state like sitting at my desk and not having got up for a few minutes, but I haven't tested it like the manual suggests, which is in the morning while in bed, waking up naturally to no alarm. Lol I figure 55 is pretty good anyway considering I was around 95 when I started P90X for the first time in March.0

I just started and mine seems to stay between 80-90, which with more training, and my new as of next tuesday, non-smoking lifestyle I hope to change.0

Yes that is very good! I am thinking of starting p90x in the next few days but im a little scared that i do not have enough strength. I think my stamina will be ok. I've been working out at the gym for 3 months now doing basic machines that really are not doing all that much sculpting wise...and I know that this will be a huge challenge, any suggestions???0 -

It definetly will change and you will find in no time that you will physically feel much healthier! I know you can do this!0 -
Since I am still early on in getting back into shape, my resting is between 61 and 64. Yay for heart rate monitors!0

Mine today at this moment sitting down with my laptop is 54! Two weeks ago it was over 60! Wow, amazing how fast it changes0

Been at this for almost 6 months. When I started it was in the 80's (about 84). It's at 78 right now (that's not an average just one-time).
Guess I'm high. lol.0 -
wow an athlete, that's great. as for working out with P90X they suggest that you begin with P90, which is great for beginners in the strength & sculpting area, however just look at the P90X and there is always a pause & rewind button if you need to redo it. Although it's suppose to be 90 days it's completing it and feeling more powerful about yourself overall. Best wishes on that & be sure to post pics.
Oh as for my resting it was at the 60ish mark last time I checked it0 -
Usually its 52 but sometimes as low as 46! Just depends on what im doing....laying down or sitting up!!!0
-
mine ranges anywhere from about 52-58...marathon runner.0
-
33 to 440
-
54..... but at my heaviest/least fit it was 65.
(My blood pressure at rest is 88/56...... and got up to 107/80 at one point.... So I'm not sure my heart rate or blood pressure are accurate measures of my general well being.)0 -
According to HRM it's averaging 55 over the last 7 days0
-
Just checked it twice. It was 48 both times.0

Thanks! Just working out regularly has helped and I am soo excited about quitting, it will be hard, but I want to one day say "no thanks, I dont smoke" which I keep reminding myself of0 -
Mines terrible, that's one of the reasons I'm here!
My gran was sick a month or so ago and I took my resting heart rate with her hospital machine - it's 87 and I don't smoke and am in a normal weight range!!!! Must Run!0 -
When I first started a month ago, mine was 85-95 and I just checked it today and it was 65 and I was surprised. I haven't lost much weight but I guess the working out has been good to me.0
-
Ok just took it again and it's 75 which moves me from poor to average for my age! Awesome0
-
took mine again today at almost the exact same time as yesterday and it's 72 versus 78 yesterday. I'm certainly not going to be basing my health on my RHR at 1pm LOL.
It obviously fluctuates.0 -

I heart rate is and has always been high, usually above 72. The smaller the person, the higher the hear rate, although lately it has been between 65 and 70.0 -
Mine was in the 80's when I started my journey.
It's 56 at the moment
I guess no longer being unfit, obese or a smoker really has paid off!0 -
Looks like mine's 66.0

Hi,
I'm glad for all the posts here!
My rate is 80-90 or so, quite high.
I didn't know it would be less when less heavy or better in shape, but the posts make me hope :-)
Hope to be under 70 soon ;-)
Thanks

I wish I would have checked before I started losing weight and training . . .
Anyhoo, right now it's usually between 34-42 lying down, and around 48 sitting up. It's actually low enough that I went and checked with my doctor to make sure nothing is wrong! I thought it might be a result of some medication I was taking or some new condition that I had not discovered but the doctor said it checked out fine (well, better than fine).
For as "good" as it is, I still feel like I can get more fit. I've been working on intervals and checking my HRM to see how fast I can normalize my heart rate after high intensity activities. I can certainly feel a difference in my fitness when playing sports . . .0 -
bought a HRM tonight and checking out my RHR while sitting here it is between 60-640
