Very hard choice. Phantom of the Opera, I think, followed by Les Miserables, preferably the theater and not film versions.

    Sound of Music

I like to add songs from today to old musicals to amuse myself...
For example... during the scene in Sound of Music where Capt Von Trapp is introducing the children and gives Maria his whistle, I hear Flo Rida's song...
You can blow my whistle baby...whistle baby...

Wow, this is hard for me! I love musicals. I think Gyspy, followed by Guys and Dolls, and then Carousel.

Glad someone mentioned Gypsy! It is my all time #1

    Mine's 7 Brides for 7 Brothers :drinker:

I have to say that my bass voice has me biased towards this one, too. But it's really hard for me to decide. I just like the ones that have a line I can sing without having to strain.

Les Miserables, with Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean.

All of this. I'm madly in love with the London production (listen to it at least once daily) but in strong like with the Broadway one. Also Bye, Bye Birdie.

I love many many many musicals but
    I
    HATE
    CATS

not in general, but the musical sucked. I liked a few of the songs. I often find myself singing Magical Mr Mistoffelees, but man that show sucked.

    No definitive fave here ..
We had some small local productions here, They're playing our song (Music by Lucy Arnaz Jr.)
There was a Marilyn Monroe one too but the title escapes me.

As for films, I'm a bit corny with the ones I most think back on ..
The Pirate movie, Grease/Grease2, Cry Baby, A Chorus Line,
Cotton Club (love that one) .. there are others but my brain is asleep.

Musical and Favorite are mutually exclusive in my mind.

    Don't care for Musicals.

OH NO, you did NOT just bust out The Pirate Movie! LOVE LOVE LOVED all over that as a teen!

    SIGH

And don't even think I couldn't still bust out "We're gonna Score tonight" from Grease 2, with full dance moves!

But if we are going to go with cheesey movie musicals, I must also include the BeeGees version of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I watch musicals ALL the time at home - or just have them playing for the background music as I clean....

Rent, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Cry Baby, Singing in the Rain, Oklahoma, Annie, Oliver, Sound of Music, Cabaret - just too many to name, really. I love them all!
