My base calories on a non-workout day are at 1400 right now, but with exercise that's very frequently more like 1600-1800.

According to MFP it's 1450 when set to sedentary. I'm 5'2, 108 lbs., 36 years old. I'm maintaining at an average of 1700 - 1800 calories a day without much exercise though.

My maintenance is around 1950 including exercise calories. I'm working toward gaining now so I'm not sure where maintenance or GW will end up when I'm done.

Currently maintaining around 2000 NET cals a day. This easily looks like 2200 - 2500 + depending on the workout of the day.

I was going to post my own topic but since you all have been maintaining for a while and seem to have your maintenance calorie goal figured out, Im wondering if you can help me out.

I'm not maintaining yet, I still have 15-20 lbs left to lose. But for fun, I entered my end goal stats into MFP to see what my maintenance calories will be (can't wait to be able to eat a little more)

It said something around 2040. I'm 5'11 and walk a moderate amount everyday so this seems about right. However, even after setting MFP to "maintain my current weight" it said that I will lose .3lbs per week and lose 1.5 lbs by October. It's supposed to give maintenance calories, not a deficit. I know it can't know the exact number but it's weird it gave me a number it was already sure would make me lose slowly.

How did you guys figure out your goals? Simply trial and error?

My maintenance calorie goal is 1720. I try to reach my weekly goal rather than daily b/c once a week I go way over so I usually go under a little the other days.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm close to you in age and height.

Right now I'm eating around 1500 total calories for a steady weight loss of just over a pound a week. I was curious what my maintenance would be when I reach my goal. 1720 is definitely doable! ;-)

    I`m 62, 5ft 2inches, daily goal 1200. Weigh 116, want to weigh around 105. 1200 calories is a tough one!

    GW: 200 - 215 lbs (ideally, 200!)
    LW: 193 lbs
    CW: 208 lbs
    Current maintenance: 2500 cals

As I lift and/or run at least 5 days/week, MFP (and my own calculations) say that I'm not eating enough. I'll probably up it to 2900 as I want to add about 6 lbs of muscle and then drop my BF from 17% to 12/13 %.

Dr has my calorie intake at 1100 calories/day plus 30 min cardio. I found it hard to only eat 1100 calories ( i have to eat sunflower seeds and peanut butter to help lower cholesterol which sadly are high in calories ) so I am getting 60-90 min cardio burning about 600-800 calories a day and then eat 1300-1500 calories

    Advice is always welcome

I see several of you in my height range with much lower CW's and GW's and it always makes me wonder if I have an abnormal amount of bone density or something  I weighed over 150 in Highschool and I was a TWIG then, and my shoulders and rib cage GREW in college. I've always been built like a linebacker through the shoulders, oh well....

Whenever I've taken diet "breaks" in the past, it was always roughly around 1600 + exercise cals. Not sure what it'll end up being in about 14 lb when I start transitioning into maintenance but I'll probably do the +100/150 cals to current and keep adding til loss levels off then stops. End goal is to eat as much as possible while I can (which sounds like "duh", but disorded eating/thinking teaches you the opposite, so I'm working on wrapping my brain around it).

    Current Weight/Goal; 112lbs.
    Weight when I started; 133lbs.
Current intake - Eating between 1400 and 1600 calories seems to be working for me, i'm still counting most days to keep myself on track for a bit, some days up to 1600 or more and other days can be low, have been maintaining since May so seems to be working for me. :)

Maintain calorie intake 1500 before exercise then 80% or what ever my calorie burn is for that day. If I dont exercise I keep it at 1500.

Everyone is different as you can see. You have to experience it and see where you fall.
    Good luck

Monday-Thursday I eat around 1800-1900 calories. I don't count Friday, Saturday or Sunday. According to my body media, my average burn is about 2200 calories. I have no doubt I go over than on the days I don't count.

Same thing I'm maintaining at. Fat2Fit radio suggests eating at your GW. I think that's a great idea. If you have little to lose like I did (10lbs), I think it's an even better idea. Keeps the deficit small.
