Constant Pain In My Legs

I have just started my diet today, and tomorrow I will begin my exercise plan. However, I have a problem. For the last three years, I have had constant leg pain. It worsens when I am cold, but it is not limited to temperature. Sometimes the pain is so bad that it makes me cry. My knee will swell one day, the next I may not be able to move one leg at the hip, and then there is the constant threat of charlie horses. My muscles cramp when I sleep, and when I am shifting gears in my car. A while back when I tried exercising, I felt amazing. The next day how ever my leg would not move in any direction, and seemed to be screaming at me it hurt so bad. If my husband touches my legs while we are sleeping the pain will wake me up. I have not gone to the doctor yet, because until recently the pain was bearable. It will not be ignored any longer. Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?

Sheesh. Really?0 -
You endured this for 3 years? Why? Go to the doctor already.0

Could be sciatic pain. Go to Dr. I get steroids shots once every 6 months or so. No more pain. I used to hurt just sitting, never mind walking.0

You might do yourself some good and have your thyroid checked out.
I can't say it was ever painful enough to make me actually - cry - but the cramps i would get were very discomforting. Talk about, having me doubling over going OOoooOooh Ahaaaaa Ouch!!! you know? severe. Not your everyday cramp lol.
I had had a total thyroidectomy - and the meds I was on were SUPER LOW - so I was having symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Was told to me that - the thyroid, is basically like the 'oil that runs your engine' - so if it's levels are all jacked up, just like your car does when it needs an oil change/the oil's 'just not right' = things will start acting up.
Hope this info is helpful. - course biggest advise: GO SEE A DOCTOR lol0 -

Well I did go to the doctor when it first happened he said it was arthritis. So for two years I thought it was just arthritis and I knew ppl always complained about pain so I thought it was normal. However like I said in the post it has recently gotten to a whole new level of pain. I do not have insurance and I am not on welfare so I have to make sure it is something important before I go spending all my money on doctor visits. All I was wondering from you fine ppl was if you had ever heard of anything like this before. I figured if you had you might know some stretches or something I could do at home before going to the doctor.0

If it's interfering with your sleep, and your joints are locking as you say they are, it's definitely time to see a doc. They might be able to give you some tips/medicaction for managing what you have, whether arthritis or sciatica-related. Think of it as money spent to avoid a bigger expense down the line.0

You also mentioned regular cramps. This is something I used to suffer with, cramps in the calves at night waking me up, cramp in the rib area when I twisted the wrong way.
But since I started drinking more water and eating more healthy it just seemed to stop0 -

That is awesome, because I am starting to drink way more water than I used to. I used to not drink any. I had 3 bottled waters yesterday. Aiming for four today. Gonna try to add a bottle each day till I get to eight. lol Who knows maybe I'll end up liking it before too long.0
