There's been a few "heavy lifting results" success stories that i've read on MFP but when i go to see that person's profile to check out pics, it says the account has been deactivated? WTH?

Sometimes people need a break from MFP. But the fact that the original poster deactivated for whatever reason does not make the story any less impressive.

People choose to deactivate for many reasons. It's personal, so no one can really give you a definitive answer to your question.

You've been here a year and haven't noticed that this site has a very high attrition rate?

MFP secretly persecutes these posters for their success. If they share their success tips, more users will be successful and end up quitting. It is a conspiracy to keep us all fat and clicking ads.

Once you've been at goal for more than 3 months, they automatically deactivate your account.

Or maybe they deactivated and created a new account.

I was one of those a long time ago, but I started a new account with a fresh start. Sometimes people need a new start, sometimes people don't need to track on MFP anymore, and sometimes they just leave because they feel like it.

Being at goal weight is divisive and considered an insult or trolling to other users.

They were banned for sticking up for themselves when people trolled their success threads to tell them they looked better fat.

Heavy lifting made them too bulky to type.

Either that or they raged out on all the excess test and wrecked their computers.

    *nods* true story

People have different reasons for deactivating:

    1. Maybe they want to change their username and have already changed it once.
    2. Maybe they want to purge their FL and don't want to go through clicking the little 'x' over and over.
    3. Maybe they found another site they like better.
    4. Maybe they had crazy people harrassing them.

I'm sure if you thought about enough, you could think of a few reasons why you would want to deactivate, even after achieving success.
