Crunchy, satisfying foods?

If you have a craving for something crunchy but want to stay away from chips or other simple carbs (ex: pretzels -- too much white flour for this whole grain girl!), what's your go to?

I love my raw veg for a nice crunch. Carrots, celery, red capsicum, cucumber, green beans, snow peas, broccoli (its an acquired taste). All low cal, lot of vitamins

Apple chips. Not as sweet as a raw apple, and sooo much more crunch. I just slice apples and dry them in the oven overnight :)

I get the pretzel crisps... then I usually spread some laughing cow cheese on top. It is crunchy and filling and makes you feel fancy. Also cucumber slices - just had some. I leave the skin on (most of the entries in the database seem to be without skin which surprised me). Also maybe popcorn?

I like crunchy stuff, too. The best thing I've found that's not loaded with calories is dry cereal... mostly Kashi rice and wheat flakes, they keep a good variety of flavors. Even some of the throw-back simple cereals like Kix can work... pretty low calorie, enough crunch to get your through, hopefully.

Chelseascount mentioned banana chips. That sounds awesome!
  • Raw almonds are like my new favorite thing! Sometimes I am limited in how much I can have with my macros for the day and when ever I discover I can fit some extra in I get so excited. And don't get me wrong, I have a taste for real junk food. I can do some serious damage to a bag of Cheetos, but now I really do love plain, raw almonds,
