Each person kind of has to see what works for them, especially since MFP calorie burn numbers are notorious OVER-estimates. For me, I found that I lose the most weight if I just eat back my cardio (where I record the numbers from the machines). When I tried to NOT eat back any of the exercise calories, OR tried to eat back ALL of them, then I would either not lose anything at all, or hardly anything. So just eating back cardio cals seems to work for me. I record those when I do them, but any that I do NOT want to eat back I wait until the end of the day to enter, so it's less confusing. I would also make sure your goal is set to lose 2 lbs/week, & your activity level is listed as sedentary, if it isn't already, to help you lose more.0

MFP sets it so that you are already at a high calorie deficit to lose weight, so when you exercise & burn more calories, you create an even greater deficit. This means you should eat back most of your exercise calories, otherwise you can put your body into starvation mode, and it will hold on to all the cals instead of burning them properly.0
