Starting my life right

Hi I'd like to introduce myself. I'm stephanie. After an abusive relationship I decided to get my life on tract by starting college where I major in graphic design, learn to drive, and try and get a job. I also want to get in shape and lose weight for ME and not my ex...
I stepped on the scale today 21 years old, 5'3 at a whopping 171 lbs. I'm not happy about this. I feel sick, out of breath easily, and I HATE HATE buying clothes. I have trouble binging because I eat emotionally and love food. I take a pilates class at the moment but it's not working because I keep continuing to eat poorly. So I joined This site to track what I eat!
Would anyone around my age like to add me I'd love to support each other on our journeys!

Hi Steph, Your best move was to end the abusive relationship. Congrats on that. I'm just starting out myself but I feel I'm past due for a change. Add me as a friend & we along w/other wonderful people on this site can do it. God bless.0

I'm close to twice your age, but I've been where you are and wanted to let you know that you CAN do this. I am coming up on 22 years of marriage to a great guy and working on losing the 40lbs that I never lost after having our four kids. (It's pretty sad when your 7 year old tells you you have a fat tummy and you know he is right.) My dad was the abusive man in my life, but I've done way more than my share of emotional eating. I have found that tracking the food here helps me a lot and tracking the exercise motivates me to do it I've even allowed myself a little emotional eating, but haven't let myself go too far over the calorie goal MFP set for me on those days. (300 calories of fries the day my boss got laid off and no one knew who was next...four more were let go that day and the next and I'm grateful I wasn't one of them.)
Not sending a friend request since you are looking for folks your own age, but if you want a friend that's been there and made it through the storm, I'll accept if you send one.0
