Protein Powders for Women

Hey guys,
I was, up until last week, using Jillian Michaels' Whey Protein. But I've been looking everywhere and can't find it in any store anymore. It took me roughly 6 months to get through the two giant tubs I had. And now even looking online everywhere shows it on their site but says "Currently not available."
So I'm turning here. Are there any good powders out there for women? I don't want to bulk up just like the source of protein it provides to my diet.
Namaste,
Nika

My absolute favorite is Syntrax Matrix. I love the dark chocolate truffle and the Caribbean cooler (tastes like a pina colada). The twisted cherry isn't bad either. One of my friends loves the mint chocolate cookie. The Fuzzy Navel isn't terrible and the Crystal Sky (citrusy) is decent.
My friend and I are both WLS patients and this is the one the RD recommended. It's a decent amount of protien.0 -
There is no such thing as a gender-specific protein powder. If there is, it's just a marketing gimmick. There's tons of powders that would work great, just find the one that fits your macros and has a good taste.
My favorite has been dymatize casein, it mixes well and it tastes pretty good.0 -
Every one has a preference. Really any protein will work for you and the more expensive doesn't always mean its better.
There are vegan'ish options out there as well(if thats your thing) . Like Soy Protein as well as RIce and I think Peas as well.0 -

1. Women don't need a specific type of protein powder
2. You are not going to bulk up from using a "man's" protein powder.
I use Body Fortress. Love the Strawberry kind. Drink it with almond milk. Yum. Can get it at Walmart and Walgreens.0 -
Protein powder is protein powder. And it won't make you bulk up. Sigh.:ohwell:0

Trutein Cinnabon
Trutein Chocolate Peanut Butter
Nitrofusion Vanilla
I eat these proteins and have turned into a woman with bulky muscles. I guess that's how protein consumption works?0 -
Like everyone else has stated. Protein is gender specific. Any Whey Isolate would be perfect for you.0
-
I second, third, whatever what everyone else said.
My personal favorite is Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard. My favorite flavor is cinnamon graham cracker. Yummm.0 -
Try Aria Women's Protein Powder...they're right protein powder is all the same but this one had a little extra iron which is what a lot of women lack. other than that, it's just plain ole protein powder.0

Protein powders specifically for woman? This is just silly. All protein powders are pretty much the same. Only difference is in flavor and taste. If protein is advertised as one specifically for woman then that is just a marketing trick...
You can't get too bulky from eating wrong protein powder. Just like you can't get too bulky from eating meat, what has huge amounts of protein in it. It's about how you exercise to reach your goals food and supplements are just a fuel...0 -
Ummm, lol...
Optimum nutrition has the best powders (imo), especially the chocolate casein.0 -
Watch out for Jillian's Protein. I read a study on chemicals in protein powders and hers was listed with the most toxic...needless ot say I stopped using it!
I just use Gold Standard 100 percent Whey isolate. Its good.0 -

Yeah, the same ones for men.0 -
It's not really specific as far as gender. Personally, I use Body Fortress. My friend and her husband both use it as well. It's within my budget, and the chocolate mixes well with coffee.0

I use Sunwarrior protein powder. It's vegan and doesn't contain soy. One scoop has about 80 calories and 16 grams of protein. (And men can use it too...;) )0

<--I eats all the proteins and I woke up like this!!!
Protein is protein. Should only one gender eat chicken or eggs? I use Now Sports whey protein isolate because it has nothing artificial. But that's my cup of tea. Usually you can buy single serve samples to test them out.0 -
Should only one gender eat chicken or eggs?
Yes. You should eat hot dogs and I shall eat burgers0 -

Can I haz meatballs?0 -
I use Body Fortress
Chocolate Peanut Butter (Whey) -- tastes very good!
Strawberry (Whey) -- tastes good!
Vanilla Creme (Whey Isolate) -- Very good!
As others said, protein powders are not gender specific.0 -
I'm guessing on you just mean a Protein powder with just protein in it I would suggest the Syntrax nectar like others have stated.
There are some over priced proteins for women with stimulants and other things for weight loss but I'm pretty sure if you bought a mens diet protein it would have the same stuff!0 -
Bulking will result from the quantity of protein (powder) consumed not the quality. You are being played like a violin if you are paying extra money to get "protein powder for women".0

I had no idea. Thanks everyone! I really, really appreciate the knowledge and the feedback. In the past, I always thought it helped with bulking lol. I really did. learn something new every day. I only use it in my morning shake/smoothies as I'm a meat eater so I get lots of protein there. I will take note of all the fun, yummy types you guys have given me and I'll run from there. I need to go to the store and get some today as I ran out Friday and have been looking for a new one since Wednesday.
Thanks again.

We have a Drug Emporium here......you can buy a lot of the protein powders in individual packets. I suggest you do this until you find the one you like. That way you have not invested in a large tub of something that you do not like.......The one I like the best is INJURY but you have to order it online. They supply to WLS patients.......which I'm not one, but I like their product.....Good Luck!0

<--- that's what man protein does.0

BioTrust Low Carb is the one I'm currently taking. I use it not to bulk up but to reduce my recovery time after a workout from 72 hours to 48 hours.0
-
Bump.
I haven't found one that works for me yet. I tried the Now Sports and it made me itch.0 -

I like Optimum Nutrition. I like the chocolate --- it is good in milk and water. The vanilla is good too, I use it in my cereal milk. The cookies and cream isn't bad, but I like the chocolate much better.
Not too expensive either. About $25 for the 2 pound container.0 -
Now that we have covered that protein isn't gender specific and that most of it is advertising gimmicks...here are some suggestions for certain proteins that I have found for certain goals I've had in the past:
Lower Calorie & Lower Carb - Isofuel in cake batter flavor. Delicious and only 104 calories for 25 g of protein and 1 carb
Muscle Guage Whey in chocolate peanut butter - 110 calories for 24 g protein and 1 carb
Great Taste, moderate level of calories and carbs - Myofusion in Cinnamon Bun flavor. YUM!!! 130 calories and 25 g protein, 9 carbs
Lactose and Gluten intolerant - Egg white protein
Vegan 80% protein Brown Rice Protein by Nutribiotic - vanilla flavor 24 g protein, 120 calories and 4 carbs.
Hope this helps...It helped me go from skinny fat to ....
