      what kind of island, and where it is in the world would matter here. im going to assume tropical to temperate, and large enough to have its own freshwater supply/indigenous edible animals.

      Tropical....the world is over there r only some people left there's coconut trees and some natural water falls lots of fish sharks etc...

      This may sound odd to the untrained eye... but each of these serves a very specific purpose.
      With this I can make fire, water, tools, shade, shelter and security.

      Most of these people would be dead in a week. Gym equipment and movies? Seriously? Its a deserted island without electricity. All your exercise will come from trying to survive so why would you need weights and elliptical?

      1. Basic survival manuals, waterproof
      2. Food storage/cooking items - coolers to protect food, cooking utensils, open flame grill, water containers
      3. tarps and ropes for making shelter
      4. Protection - guns, ammo, knives, ax
      5. Books - cause I will get bored trying to stay alive

      Hell, the OP is bringing her entire family and all her friends. Why not just bring a whole team of carpenters and woodworkers? A plumber, an electrician, some architects, a few engineers, building materials ... we could turn this island into St. Barth's in short order.

      And for the record, a missing consonant would be useful, too.

      Why are we PLANNING to get stuck? If I knew ahead of time that I was going to be stuck I wouldn't plan an inventory of what to get stuck with, I'd plan a way to get UNSTUCK or I would simply cancel the trip.
