    I made lettuce wraps like from P.F. Changs last night and they were SO good. http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/asian-lettuce-wraps-2/Detail.aspx. I substituted 97% fat free ground turkey breast for the ground beef and it turned out really great! I put everything into the recipe calculator on MFP and came up with 255 calories for 1/4 of the meat mixture and 4 lettuce leaves. Probably a little high in sodium, but really yummy. Highly recommend!

    Great job to all those that lost weight! Congrats Cathy for getting back to the gym!

    Today's plan:
    B - Cheerios, skim milk
    S - Banana
    L - Leftover lettuce wraps
    S - Apple with peanut butter
    D - Turkey paninis with pepperjack cheese, tomato, avocado, and mustard, and baked sweet potato fries
    S - If I have calories left, I'm having ice cream!

    Workout:
    30-45 minutes on elliptical (or treadmill, haven't decided yet)
    100 pushups
    Abs (I do 10 crunches, 10 reverse crunches, 10 criss-cross crunches, then 9 of each, 8, 7, etc. all the way down to 1)

    Yay me....4lbs! And even after the fair this past weekend. I think though my scale was off last Tuesday. But still, I am extremely proud! I shredded yesterday morning on L2, it was challenging. The walk out push up things were a struggle with my wrist, but I made it through them. Halfway through it, of course when I am out of breath, Maddy comes out and is just staring at me. She is wondering why I am so out of breath, I had to laugh. I told her that one morning she would have to come work out with me, she said "no way". I think it is that she just can't keep up with dear ole mom. Still loving it, when I do it. I feel so good when I do shred in the mornings, I just don't know what is keeping me from doing it some mornings.

    Hope everyone is having a great week, and will continue to watch those calories and keep up the exercise routines! After finishing up our first week, and getting settled in...let's get it together guys and meet our goals!

    I just did a 2 hour workout and used 1034 calories. I feel great. I did one hour of areobics and one hour of circuit training. I have now worked out for five days straight. I plan on keeping up this pace until the rest of my weight is gone. I need to get the rest off before the wedding. And I am determined this time around!

    Wow me - I lost .2 pounds. At this rate I will meet my goal in approximately 75 weeks! :tongue: Haha - Ok but seeing the rest of you makes me want to get my butt in gear for this challenge! I've been keeping up my exercising for 1.5 - 2 hours a day, but I pigged out at a wedding this past weekend and am paying the price.

    Good work Lo, Lauren, Kel, Jessyca and Kizzy on your AWESOME losses! I'm inspired. My numbers will be up (or down?) next week! :bigsmile:

    PS - Kristin, when you say you jog for 2 miles, I just have to ask, do you run the whole time?? I am working on it, but I'm seriously not a runner, and I can barely make it a mile. I end up walking quite a bit, but I want to run a whole 5k by this time next year (amongst other walk/run goals). I just need to know from the runners, how do you do it?? I always start out motivated to run far, but my head gets in the way and my thoughts psych me out, so I stop. I have to figure out that mental thing that runners MUST have that keep them going. Who wants to help?! :flowerforyou:

    I have discovered two things about running haha 1 ) ALWAYS easier if your in the middle of a good book! You spend almost the whole time thinking about the book and trying to finish it in your head 2) Amazing time to think about goals, not only will you feel incredible about completing a simple goal like running a mile, but you could also determine what you want your dream kitchen to look like, or start planning an amazing vacation and figure out how to afford it.

    I like doing mental things that just fully envelop my mind while running. Oh and music that isnt violent is an excellent thing to run to, it puts you into a calm mental state but also can kind of put you into a trance... like when ur driving and u forget how you got home because the trip was just on auto. :) Hope this helps!

    Hey SIxers! So I was suppose to weigh in this morning, but I woke up to a voice mail, and email, and a txt all asking me to call about an interview because I was the candidate that they had been looking for! I was super pumped so I ran so quickly out of the house my BF hardly even got a goodbye kiss. :tongue: I think I got the job too! I am super pumped, life is really starting to come together here in the Keys, *knock on wood*. So I will weigh in in the morning, I am not expecting much of a loss since we still havent worked out, but its hard getting into a routine when you dont have any type of schedule!!! Doing okay with the food, but not great, We are trying, its a lot harder to eat healthy on such a strict budget...

    I was so psyched when I weighed myself this morning! I have been fluctuating from 133-135 for a couple of months now, but as of last week I've been weighing in at 133-131. About time the scale moved! I think what has made the difference is doing intervals on the treadmill. I used to run anywhere from 3-4 miles, three times a week and the scale still wasn't budging. In an effort to get the scale moving, I took someone's advice and started doing intervals on the treadmill for no more than 30 mins. It looks like it's working :happy:

    I didn't get a chance to introduce myself on the week 1 thread since I was one of the last one's to join you ladies. A little about me- I'm 25, work full time and recently returned to school. I'm super busy, but I try to make sure I work out 4-5 times a week. I enjoy eating healthy, but if I don't keep track of what I eat with MFP, I can easily go past my alloted calories (1200). Things can also get a little tricky at work, I work at an office with about 100 employees and every week someone brings in bagels, cupcakes or we're cutting cake because it's someone's birthday. My ultimate goal is to weigh 120, I'm only 5'1. I hope with this thread we can ALL get closer to our goals!

    Oh, and I also saw a couple of people doing an October challenge. I have also taken on my own October challenge, and that is the 100 push up challenge. It goes hand-in-hand with our Hot-ober Sixers since the push up challenge is also six weeks. I started this week, I really want to see this challenge through the end. Wish me luck :wink:

    Up one pound, but not sweating it. Some of it is bad food choices, the other is hormones. So getting back into gear to get it GONE by next week (plus a little extra :flowerforyou: )

    i just walked outside for about 30 mins. nice and chilly felt so good. now that i don't have my treadmill anymore, i have to find things. darn scale was up a pound this morning.

    i keep getting this call from a cell phone asking me to accept charges. they will call me at least 5-10 times every morning. starting at about 7. seeing if i can block it.

    everyone is doing great.

    Julia, I used to be in the same boat. I never was a runner. I remember when high school tennis season started up each year, our coach would make us run a 2 (or so) mile course a few times. I could never make it and thought it was such a daunting task. A few years later, when I was the heaviest I ever was (pushing 180 or so) I was going to change. In November 2005, I signed up for the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon (run in May). I started out slow. I would run at 5.2 mph on the treadmill for 3-4 minutes at a time, then walk a minute or 2 for recovery. The next week I upped the running time a bit, and a few weeks later I was able to run 4 miles without stopping to walk. Over time, I was able to increase the speed too. It DOES get easier, you just can't let yourself give up. Remember, it's OK to walk! Since 2006, I have done 6 half-marathons and 1 full marathon.

    Just recently I started listening to books on tape (kinda the same as B was talking about) while I run. I just get them from the library and put them on my iPod. Makes the time go by really fast! However, I do notice that I run a bit slower since I don't have the tempo from music to run to.

    Good morning all! Three more days of working at the current job. I'm SO ready to be out of here, so it's going really slow... The only bad thing about me starting my new job next week is I won't be able to get on MFP during the day anymore. I'll have to find time in the morning or afternoons to chat with you ladies.

    The maintenance guys are taking me out for lunch today. None of them have ever had Indian food, so we're going to an Indian buffet. I LOVE Indian food!! I find it really hard to control myself when I eat there, so today will definitely be my cheat day for the week. Plus it was my grandma's 70th birthday yesterday, and my mom and stepdad are having the family over for pizza and cake tonight after work. Since I have to go home to let the dog out, I won't have any time to hit the gym today... Calorie count is going to be astronomical, I can already tell. I think I can skip the cake, but pizza, I don't know...

    Today's Plan:
    B - Honey Nut Cheerios with skim milk
    L - Indian Buffet - I'm guessing around 800-1000 calories
    D - Pizza and cake

    Workout:
    Just walking the dog. I'll try to do something active while I watch Modern Family tonight (love that show!)

    PS. I tried so hard to get 100 pushups in yesterday, however we did a bunch of them on Monday at my Core Camp class. I got 40 in yesterday before my pecs started screaming at me. Today, my armpits hurt really bad... Maybe I'll try again tomorrow!
