Treadmill Funnies

I know some people call it the DREADmill, but I'm actually a fan of the treadmill. It's nice to be able to go five miles and still be 30 seconds away from home if the kids need me (I have one at home). Anyway, just came across this page with some funny treadmill gifs and thought I'd share *Ü*

Anyone else actually prefer the treadmill to running outside?

I do, for much the same reason. Sometimes I feel weak and ill all of a sudden and it can be so hard to have to keep walking to get home or back to the car. Plus, the sweating thing. Ugh. I prefer to sweat in private and be near the shower.

So Jen, have you started working on that dance move? You've already walked backwards on your treadmill, right? (Or do I have you mixed up with someone else?)

In the winter/late fall, when it's, too cold and gets dark early, definitely ... But in the summer/late spring, I wouldn't be caught dead on a treadmill ... unless it's thunder-storming out ... but ONLY a thunderstorm ...

i use it forsafety reason beyond just being outside I have a really bad problem of zoning out during cardio and running way too long at tmes or inapproprate times since I use it for destressing. I now use treadmill but as we started out using it for me I fell off the treadmill not because it was going but... because it stopped and I well didn't now I use alarms to check in every 15 min and a warning before cooldown. I did that twice once infront of a few trainers and they got a big laugh out of it. Oh well live and learn

I like the treadmill also, It allows me to keep a better pace, I have water nearby and I am close to help and support if I should happen to fall or get hurt. After 20 years in the military and being forced into fitness, it is nice to say I NEVER have to run outside if I don't want to.
  • I like both however the majority of running is done on my treadmill because of:

    Black fly season
    Deer fly season
    Horse fly season
    Mosquito season
    Cold season
    Winter Season

Soooooo. Yeah. While I do like to run outside most of the year it's not an option!

I run at the gym but if I can't get to the gym I run on the TM at home and I'll put on a show I DVR'd and run for an hour.

@Kadje .... YES, I did post on my blog that I tried the walking backwards on the treadmill (at home, not at a gym where people could see me). But that was my older treadmill that had longer arms for better balance and support. I haven't really tried it on my current machine (and way back when I was walking to music, now I walk/jog to a show, and wouldn't be able to see the TV facing the other direction *Ü*)

I do love my home gym ... I'm an indoor exerciser. I guess I still prefer my elliptical and bike, as I can wear slippers on those ... I hate shoes!

I practice my grapevine on the stairmaster- it's amusing.

I practice a lot of bellydancing stuff on the treadmill if I"m walking- it's ridiculous. I'm sure at some point someone's video'd me- I dont' do crazy arm things- but I do a lot of hip isolations and undulations.

    I prefer the TM because
    1. no rocks to hurt my feel or twist my ankles, and
    2. no huge clouds of dust in the air to breath, so its alot heathier for me
    3. and no 110 degrees F., (45 degrees C) in the summer and no mud and ice in the winter
    4. I can watch TV, even if its stupid shows I dont like, so the time just flies
