Counting calories for juicing?

How do you count the calories for juices you make at home? I am talking green juices out of veggies, not fruit juices.

I just enter the vegetables that I'm using. Granted it won't be 100% accurate because you usually juice out the fiber but the sugar content should be correct and you'll get a general idea about the calories.

This would be my best guess.

http://myphytos.com/build calculates juice composition, don't know how accurate though.

Yeah, kale and celery, and and and. I just tossed a ton of green veggies in it. TOTALLY a mistake. I need to be smarter next time. Use more fruit then I did, and get myself used to full on veggie

That was my first experience with juicing. I bought the juicer, and a cr@pload of fruits and vegetables... some of which, I didn't even know what they were. I stuffed everything in that juicer. And I kept going.... filling up old milk jugs full of juice....to take to work... and clogging the hell outa the juicer.... it was a real production.

What I learned from that first day was.... cleaning the juicer is kind of a mundane / monotonous task.... Mind you, i am a sloth.... but I do wonder, how Joe Cross cleaned his juicer while he was on the road? I learned that filling the thing up, with all the waste, until the catcher is full, basically jams the whole machine up. And, most importantly, I learned, I don't like certain vegetables, and they don't taste any better in juice, they actually tend to taste worse, and wreck the entire juice. I also found I prefer to make straight fruit juice, or straight vegetable juice, I'd rather not mix them.

I LIKE certain vegetables, ergo, I like them juiced. I'm kinda stuck on tomato, red pepper, celery and carrot...... cucumbers don't hurt it any, either.... and I'm sure there are more that I'd like, if I gave 'em a try.

I can certainly tolerate kale in a salad.... but, if you take away just one thing from this post.... it should be.....

    DO NOT JUICE KALE

You can probably find the post-juice calories somehow online. However, I'd suggest going with smoothies (you can still only do veggies) so the fiber stays in. It will help with weight loss, help keep you full, and has a number of other benefits. I never understood juicing over smoothies because there's literally no point in taking out the most nutritious and beneficial part to any plant based food. I often to fruit/veggie smoothies with the whole fruit and can lose weight pretty quickly while always feeling stuffed!

if you make a juice that tastes bitter, why throw it out? you can just juice some fruit right into the same glass to make it sweeter & to adjust the flavor to your liking. Try adding lemon, ginger, apple, pineapple, or orange to your green juices- and ease into kale. spinach is milder to start, and always have at least 1/2 a piece of fruit in there. :) happy juice experimenting!

    It's an acquired taste...
My ex-bf and I used to do 1 head of romaine and 2 lbs of carrots for dinner once a week.

First time, I thought it was horrendous and thought I was going to have to break-up with him then and there.
    Second time, I didn't gag.
Third time, it was not the best thing I'd ever had, but I could deal.
I always felt great afterward it was a good trade off.

But after that I was sold and actually came to enjoy it.
