But you're wrong about them looking good. They're a terrible, awful monstronsity of a pants. Like their spiritual sisters the jeggings, they make every body type look slightly worse - which is a fine and noble thing if you've got a great body and don't want to make everyone else feel bad about themselves. Otherwise, it's definitely possible to find things that are both cooler and cuter to wear. (Skirts?)

Depends on the capri and how you're wearing them. Those baggy, frumpy, shapeless, elastic waist things that my elderly neighbor wears with a glittery bedazzled sweatshirt, orthopedic shoes, compression stockings and a fanny pack when she goes to the casino to play the penny machines, look bad on everyone. Ones that are fitted and worn with cute shoes look perfectly fine.
  • I wear them as long as the weather is warm.

If you like them, then you should wear them - that whole "dressing based on arbitrary calendar dates" went out in the Victorian era, I'm not sure why it's still a thing.

You clearly didn't read the OP.
She can't wear skirts to work since they're considered too revealing and her job involves a lot of bending over.

    OP, I like capris.
I wore them in March in VT when it was like 15F out so keep wearing them!

I do... but I live in Texas and it's still hovering around 90 degrees and will be in the 80's well into October.

    capri pants never.

Okay back to the part where I made it clear I was asking people who wear capris...

Background: I work in a hot indoor environment. I can't wear shorts or skirts because they are considered too revealing for the bending over I do in front of people. It's 70 outside when I go to work and in the 30s or 40s when I get off work. I am working with the options I have, which are long pants and capris.

So, if you wear capris, what do you do? If you don't wear capris, great, good for you. I'm sure I hate some of your clothes, too.

I love capris and I wish i could wear them to work! Wear them as long as you want to!

Is there any reason people need approval from others for the most minor things possible?
Wear sandals in the snow for all I care. Wear a scarf in the summer.
Might get frost bite or heat exhaustion, but that's your prerogative

Just out of curiosity - why couldn't you wear a longer skirt?

I am wearing a pair now. I will be wearing a pair to the gym later. I wear them in summer and the dead of winter.

I will wear the s**t out of some capris if I feel they look good on me. :smokin:

I wear capri's 5 days a week to work and will wear them until it gets to cold which will be about the end of October. I love capri's as you can tell, lol. I just don't wear white ones after labor day:smile:

Yep, I wear them as long as the weather is warm enough. I don't do white after Labor Day though (I think that "old" rule has stuck with me since I was a child)!

Wear what you want and what you like! The hell with everyone else! :)

Hahaha! I can totally picture your neighbor when reading this. I am thinking she may wear a visor also? :)

I say wear what you want. No one cares as long as its not too revealing for work (which capris obviously aren't)

My husband hates capris in general, but I have a couple pairs that fit well and he actually says they're all right. So yea...fit has a lot to do with them looking good.

I rarely wear white pants or shorts whether it's before or after Labor Day, but that's just because I'm messy.

Wear what you want when you want to wear it. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

I am still wearing shorts. And capris, although they make my legs look stumpy. I'm also still wearing tank tops. It's still over 100 degrees here. It's too hot for long pants. There is no way that my wardrobe will be governed by a calendar. I won't wear long pants until Halloween probably.

I've kinda stopped wearing capris, period. I feel like they may age me a bit.

With the changes in my body, I need much shorter, tighter capris than a size 16 is usually cut. Or they just are not flattering at all. When I was a size 22, 5'8" capris were extremely flattering on me but now I am in a loose size 18 and they are not.

These days I tend to just opt for full-length pants for work/dressy and then shorts the rest of the time. Which for me is actually a NSV because I have a spider bite scar and 2 tattoos, and religiously covered my legs at least the thigh, knee, upper calf area, for years until very recently :-)

When I was larger I wore capris up until probably October. I live In southern Missouri and it stays pretty warm here until around that time or even longer.

No, and for the love of God, no flip flops or open toed shoes either. (In Canada at least).

It's the best season of all..boot season!
  • If it's warm out why not?

I really honestly have zero issues with what anyone chooses to wear. I will wear open toed shoes/sandals/flip flops if it's a nice warm day out. I will wear shorts, capris and whatever the hell I feel like wearing if it's a nice, warm day out.

I will also wear white after Labor Day.

I'll wear short skirts, tight shirts, knee high boots, over the knee boots, platform heels and whatever I feel like wearing because I personally don't care what someone thinks about my choice of clothing or what 'rules' I'm supposed to be following when it comes to fashion.
