I am a Sr. Lease Analyst for an O&G company. I  my job! I have been with my company almost 9 years. :drinker:
Sure there are "politics" and "a##holes*, but those people are almost every where you go. Thankfully I am able to come to work, do my job, go home and live my life. It's awesome!

Take the leap, find something new that you at least like, if you like it enough, no doubt the pay will come. (Promotions/Raises)
Not everyone finds a job they love but you can find something that doesn't cause your life misery. Life is too short to be unhappy at work.

    Good luck.

I work in medical billing and coding for a large hospital in Maine. Whenever the insurance companies deny the claims, I fight with them and MAKE THEM PAY! It's pretty gratifying because I don't lose often!

Quality Assurance Administrator, records keeper, general of all knowledge that comes with documentation for ISO procedures.

I was to the point of quitting but things changed recently, and with those changes came a new job description/revamp of the position and I am back to loving my job.

I train dogs, well I actually train people on how to train their dogs. The dogs are the easy part, they do whatever I want them to. The owners that apply human emotions and child rearing training are the ones I have to work on.
They are not babies, they are animals, lol

mental health counselor in a transitional living program for adults with dual diagnosis (mental illness/substance abuse)
    i love it.

prior to that, case worker for the same population in the community. hated it.

prior to that, counselor at a runaway shelter for 11-17 year olds, LOVED it (would not mind doing this the rest of my life, sadly was only part time and hours were being cut, so i left and found full time elsewhere before i lost my job).

the only thing i hate about my job is that the pay is just enough to kind of get by (i have to put off paying my electric bill and medical bills in full, as long as the medical group and the electric company get some form of payment a month it's fine for now lol).

we do get paid holidays (if we work on the holiday we get time and a half plus we get to use another day off instead, if we are regularly off on a holiday we get to use that holiday another day as well), paid sick days, vacation, and paid snow days/incliment weather days which is freaking awesome since i live in ny. we do get a bonus of $800 usually twice a year, one in the summer near the end of the fiscal year when we have extra money in the budget and the other around christmas time which really helps. it's a not for profit so they do what they can. the pay is about average, but making $28000 a year in ny is rough. not enough for any assistance but not enough to be comfortable.

i am a huge believer in liking what you do. my last job i HATED. i lived in cincinnati where it is much cheaper so my bank account of course had way more in it. i could afford to pay my bills ahead of time or on time and in full, afford to pay rent ahead of time and be able to go away somewhere like a cruise or a road trip. definitely cannot do that now, will need to save for a year before i can go away anywhere. but i am so much more happier, less stressed (some financial stress like i said earlier, a few outstanding bills but my rent is paid every month, i put towards my electric and medical bills, and have enough to afford food). i would much rather have a little financial stress than be well off financially but contemplating suicide daily on the way to work because i hated my job.

that sucks about your job, my last job the turnover rate was ridiculous, we were constantly short on case workers and it really wasn't worth it, i am so glad to be happy at my job where my boss is awesome, we are appreciated, and they buy us lunch too! when we take agency trips with the clients, they pay for us as well. i just had a free camping trip provided, all i had to pay for was spending money (food transportation and lodging was 100% paid for).

    Sign me up!

I'm a family therapist who sees kids who have gotten in trouble with the law (truancy, runaways, 'ungovernable behavior') but who haven't exactly done anything illegal yet so the juvenile system won't do anything. I spend most of my days begging low-life parents to not be such low-lifes and take care of the kids they brought on this earth. I like my job most days but it can be realllllly stressful.

But I'm also a Pure Romance consultant, and LOVE it! :)
