Rapid Weight Gain - Water Weight?

I weight every day, but pay most attention to each weeks average because of typical fluctuations. I just saw a 3 pound gain over about 2 days which is unusual for me. I did have more carbs than normal over the past couple of days from bread. Don't normally eat much bread.

Found this article about rapid water weight gain from increased carbs and fiber together. There is a supposed expert in the thread - Chocco? Do you think he is speaking the truth? http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread44684.html

I found it interesting and just trying to increase my knowledge on nutrition and weight loss info.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Unless you ate an additional 10,500 calories over your current TDEE in two days, then it's water.

    Most likely water.
I just kind of skimmed the topic you posted, and choco is right on. Glycogen is 80% water, so depending on "what" you were doing before it's not at all uncommon to see a spike after eating carbs.

I carb cycle, and it's not at all uncommon for me to gain 5lbs overnight. Nothing to worry about really.
