Nice Meal

Options
Hi

I make a nice Veg Curry meal which is ideal for a midday lunch.

I buy the ingredients frozen from Farm Foods. It consists of

200g Frozen onion (72 Cal)
200g Frozen Mixed Peppers (50 Cal)
200g Frozen Petit Poirs (Peas) (98 cal)
200g Frozen Mushrooms (44 Cal)
1 Tin of chopped tomatoes. (60 Cal)

Mix the veg together after it has defrosted (or defrost in Microwave) and add salt and pepper and a Curry Powder of your choice. You can experiment with the amount

I cook it for around 10-15 mins in the Microwave.

It works out to 25-27 calories per 100g so I do a 400g portion for lunch. Thats around 120 calories max.
A nice meal or snack with very few calories and going towards your 5 a day if you follow that line.

Give it a go its quite inexpensive too

My Mrs did something similar for her lunches the other week from a Weight Watchers recipe was very nice, but I always feel cheated with no meat in my curry.

If I feel like a bit extra I sometimes buy a pack of Chicken Tikka slices or ordinary slices from iceland or farm foods, it works out around 116 calories per 100g, which is quite a few slices. Mix it in with 400g of the curry and your still around the 220 calories mark., and you have your meat in there.
