I'm in! Like others, I'd actually like to lose more than 10 lbs by Christmas, but if all I can lose is 10, that's still great :)

Ok, so lets start week 1 this week :) How does everyone feel about this? I think the best way to do this, and if anyone has any input just let me know, I am open for suggestions...Is that everyone sends me their weights on Tuesday Mornings? What do you all think? I will then compose a list and send it out mid day or afternoon.

That puts us at about a pound a week, we can do this!! And look great for all those holiday pictures (bah) :)

Sounds good! We can post our weigh ins on here or something and you can compile a list at the end of the day and post it. The scale has been good to me lately, hopefully it continues! It's nice having a message board to keep track of everything, and we can see everyone's progress easily.

That sounds like a good plan, aleslie... or at least it does until I weigh in tomorrow.

ok, i'll weigh in tomorrow... hopefully that will be enough recovery time from my weekend of splurging... :( trying to stay within my calories (or under) for a few days this week, and to drink my water.... i am scared of what the scale might say tomorrow.

Count me in trying to lose more than 10lbs by then, but 10lbs would be good also.

I weighed in at 150 (so worried I am going to plauteu soon, lost a lot last month really quick 2lbs a week for 4 weeks, and nothing last week...ekkk)...but so far no weight gain so that is good...starting 150, ending hopefully 140 :)

Well they say the best way to beat a plateau is to change up what you're doing in your exercise routine. Though weren't you confined to low impact exercise for awhile? Maybe add a couple of longer sessions each week of whatever you're doing and see if that gets you moving again.

Technically, my goal weight is 130. I would love to be at 125, but I doubt that's terribly healthy since it's in the low range of healthy BMI for me. I suppose if I hit my goal of 5 pounds before Christmas, I'll work on toning and providing support to all of you!

Yes, no running or high impact. I am doing bike, walking, and eliptical. I just can't wait til I can do more. 2 more months :) THanks for supporting me and the advice :)

If you aren't already, you can add intervals to any of those workouts without increasing the impact. For instance, walk at your usual pace for 1 minute, then walk faster for 1 minute, then back. Alternate for the amount time you would normally workout. I have a link to mp3 cardio intervals if you want. I've used them on a stationary bike, walking, and a Gazelle.

Weighed in at 126 lbs this morning. I was worried it would be higher. This is where I've been for a little over a week now, but last week and the weekend were a struggle, so I'm actually just happy I didn't gain anything :) Nice to see that I was able to just maintain, despite all the temptations put in front of me.

My weight was 157.3 lbs this morning. I'm happy with it, given the fact that I drank about 5 drinks on my booze cruise on Saturday night and that weight is 0.5 lbs lower than on Friday. I'm shooting for 145 by Christmas, and I just read today that Christmas is 10 weeks away. 1.2 lbs a week is reasonable I think. My minigoal is 150 by Christmas, but I think I can get to 145, as long as I don't get off track. Then I'll be in a really good position after the holidays to get down to 135 by mid-February.

I have a run/walk around the lake next to my apartment today after work. The lake is really pretty and 2/3 of a mile around so I do 5 laps for a 5K. Right now I can't run further than a mile without stopping, but I can't wait until the day where I can run all 5 laps without stopping!

    can i join in?
i'd love to be 145 by Christmas. My goal is 1.5 lbs/wk.
i fell off the wagon this weekend, uughh! i gained 2 lbs cause the scale said i'm 162.4. My weigh in is Fridays.
maybe we can also post our measurements....???? what do you think?

00trayn - I think you can get 145 or very close, and 1.2 is doable...you got this :)

svgarcia - of course you can join. I normally don't do measurements but I am down to try :) I will get mine later tonight!!!

Measurements are a great way to track progress. I've been taking them once a month since I started and it's really nice to see the change in measurements when the scale isn't cooperating. We can post them once now and then repost at the end. That way, if for some reason we don't hit 10 lbs lost or whatever goal we've set, we have another way to measure success :)

I measure the same day every month, and that isn't until the end of the week so I'll post those when I do them.

Ok so i will post my measurement on friday.
I'm at least wanting to get out of the 160's....hopefully by friday, if not def. by next friday.
Thank you and looking forward to your support and vice versa...

I was wondering if we should set mini challenges for all of us to do ??? and post each week if we finished the challenges

Example : Challenges like drink more then 64oz a day, No eating after 8pm, No sugar unless it's natural like from fruit, No soda!!! things like that will help us lose more weight before christmas
