For smaller quanities in the crock pot, use one cup Ball jars (no lids!) - put the jars in the crock pot, pour water around the jars so the water level is about half to 3/4 of the way up the sides of the jars. I use 1/4 c of steel cut oats, 3/8 c milk, 3/8 c water in each of two jars. In the third I put a cut up Granny Smith apple with little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon. All three jars in the crock pot, water around them, set temperature on low, and cook for about 8 hours. Divide the cooked apple between the two oatmeal portions - great
breakfast for two ready when you are!0 -
I buy Coach's Steel Cut Oats in a big bag from Costco. They microwave in 3-1/2 minutes, although if you let them sit for 5 minutes or so after cooking they're even better.0

Which do you guys prefer & find the most filling throughout the day? I need it to keep me full through most of my morning. TIA!
Love the taste of steel cut, but it's pain in the *kitten* to cook, compared to rolled oats. So 99% of the time, it's rolled oats.0
