Experiences of TDEE and advice?

Hello,

I was hoping someone could explain the TDDE thing to me!? I am sorry, I know its been done probably a zillion times but I just cant get my head around it.

I have worked it out on fitness frog to be- 1865 based on light exercise 1-3 times a week as I got to crossfit 2 x a week for an hour and then try and run home one night which is a few miles. I guess what I am wondering Is how much exercise would be needed to meet the requirements? 1 hour? 30 mins?

So I have subtracted 10% as I don’t have too much to lose( 7 pounds) and would happy for this to be a bit slower, and I get 1678 calories, so is this what I should be eating?

My BMR is 1365 so I cannot go to 1200, I have tried this before and I was so hungry.

Would love to hear other experiences of this and success stories.

Thanks,

I have found that like almost any method of calorie reduction you choose, the more weight you have to lose the easier it is to see results, including using the TDEE method. I believe the reason is that when you are close to goal weight, the accuracy of calorie consumption is so important. If you are underestimating calorie consumption even by just a few hundred calories it really effects your progress.

But anyways, I am in the same boat as you where I don't have a lot to lose and don't mind if it takes a little bit longer since I am somewhat close to goal. You want to eat your TDEE-10% nnumber every single day regardless of exercise. This is a way to not have to worry about entering exercise calories, and also a way to keep yourself accountable and stick to an exercise schedule. I would possibly look up a few other TDEE calculators to run your numbers, because they really all are estimates based on a few numbers.

What anguish? Figuring out exactly how much fuel your body needs to function?

    That's not anguish.

That's being aware of your body.
