Sorry for the way it copied, but the soup is very tasty!


Hamburger Soup (9 oz per serving as prepared here)

Beef - Ground, 90% lean meat / 10% fat, crumbles, cooked, pan-browned (hamburger), 1100 g 2,530 0 132 313 188 18

Campbell's - Tomato Soup - Condensed, 1 container (1 3/10 cups ea.) 225 50 0 5 10 0

Brown hamburger and onion. Add all other ingredients to large pot and start simmering. Add hamburger and onion, adjust flavour as desired. Simmer minimum 1 hour until barley cooked, longer for better flavour.

  • This sounds good, thanks for the recipe. It's soup season already! I will be trying it, assoon as I can locate barely in my grocery stores. Is pot barley the same as quick cooking barely? I have been looking for it in the stores since summer (to add in a salad recipe that was posted on here) but all I can find is the ground up breakfast barley that's an alternative to oatmeal.

    I usually find it in the stores with soup ingredients. It can be called pot barley or pea barley. Should be near split peas or dried beans in the stores. Looks like little round white pasta about the size of a small bead.
