Help troubleshooting treadmill issue

Hello - I just bought a used proform cross walk advanced 525x. It worked great until last night. I was jogging on it and the belt all of a sudden stopped and started squealing. So the belt works fine until you step on it, then it stops.

Anyone ever have this happen? Any ideas on where to start to fix it would be greatly appreciated. The owners manual didn't have any helpful info for this specific issue.

Thank you in advance!

go to treadmill doctor.com and call them tommorrow

sounds like the belt or the board under the treadmill needs replaced (but that's if you have a comm. treadmill) - i guessing yours is home based

Check to see what your warranty covers (if it is still valid) or look up businesses that can come repair your treadmill. It could be a variety of problems.

Need to adjust or replace the belt.
    Adjust, clean, replace sensors
    Oil/lube the belt/gears....
    etc

Call a repairman and wear something sexy when he arrives.

Lots of good stories start like this.

Mine did this I took the front and back panels off and adjusted the tension. I just google the make and model and there was a explanation of how to do it. It has worked great since. DO NOT put WD40 or lubricant on it I was going to do that and they say it will wreak the belt.

Did you buy a warranty or register it? I bought mine at ****'s sporting goods almost 2 years ago but I used it for maybe 3 months because I had a pregnancy in between. Mine started making thuding noises so I called and I had bought the 2 year warranty so it was still covered. The repair man just came out today and immediately knew what the problem was. He ordered a part for it and he'll return to put the new part in when it comes in. I suggest you do the same if you bought any kind of warranty or it's still under warranty from proform. Unfortunately I am not a treadmill tech so I can't help you further. Best of luck!

    ETA- Crazy I can't write D * C K s. lol

Oh sorry I just realized you wrote used so it's probably not under warranty. I would go online and check it out see if it's a problem that you can fix on your own without having to call a repairman if it's not under warranty.
