Hello, from one of the guys

A quick survey of the usernames around here indicates I am one of the few males--though I see the admin is a guy.

My girlfriend got me to join and I have to say that I am impressed with the site and the tools available.

I have been struggling to lose weight and keep it off for ten years. At 31, I am not very old, but I need to lose 50-60 pounds to be where I should be and I feel like it has to happen before my life progresses any farther.

So any other guys hanging around?

    Hi Kilgore, Im a guy too.......Good luck with your weight loss ,everyone here, male and female are very supportive. I cant say enough about all the support everyone offers. It s good too, when we have a success story to tell or share. Kinda keeps you going.

    Losing weight is hard, really hard, but staying focused, do your daily entries, and keeping in touch with people who are losing, is the way to do it....esp when people share their tips on how to lose weight.....Good luck, put me down as one of your friends......., lol, male friends, .......Lloyd

    Another guy here.. I'm 31 as well and needed to lose about 50 pounds before I got on here. I'm almost there but I can honestly say this site was the tool I was missing to get me there. I have always worked out but obviously my diet was lacking. Feel free to add me as well as a friend. This is a great site with very supportive people so you have come to the right place. .....Angel

    Angel , your story is very similar to mine, always been an active guy, but the realities of close to a decade of desk jobs is catching up.

    I am really hoping the calorie counting is the missing piece I need to make a real change.

    losing weight is 80% diet, 10% genetics and 10% working out...or so Tosca Reno says...even if you don't reply to every forum topic, just tracking what you're eating, and getting some great recipes off here will help you out...good luck!
