HCG attributes zero to fat loss. The rapid fat loss experienced is simply due to adhering to a prescribed semi-starvation diet. Save your money and do not chronically maintain a semi-starvation diet, either, as they lead to obesity relapse once calories are increased to adjusted maintenance. If you have 100 lbs to lose, or more, you may begin one - only under the supervision of a doctor - but it would be maintained only for a few weeks at most before calories are increased.0

I did this for about 45 days....and then I came to my senses and thought, "Why the hell am I trading one unhealthy lifestyle for another body destroying lifestyle?!"
In other words...DON'T DO IT!!!0 -

The reactions to this thread will be harsh, but we're (most of us) decent people--we just believe in hard work and sustainable weight loss. Diets that damage our bodies and waste our money tend to be a trigger around MFP. Best of luck in reaching your goals!0 -
Um. Hell to the nah.
Also, HCG is actually dangerous and so this thread will probably be shut down soon since it's against MFP regulations.0 -

^^^^ this.
and don't take the inevitable backlash on this thread personally... HCG is not popular here, because a) HCG doesn't work and b) the VLCD that goes with it is extremely unhealthy and unsustainable
Log your food on here, find exercise you enjoy, eat back your exercise calories (but be careful to calculate them carefully as a lot of people overestimate calorie burn with exercise) and aim to enjoy your food and lifestyle as much as possible while losing weight in a slow, sustainable and healthy way. Long term success = keeping the excess fat off for life, it's not about how quickly you can lose it. Too fast fat loss isn't sustainable (i.e. much more chance of gaining the weight back again and then some)0 -
Might I instroduce you to the search button?
It is located in the top right corner.
Search HCG in the forums.....you'll get a lot of information and lots of funny gifs.0 -

Why is this thread still active?0

Instead of doing a dangerous 800 cal day diet, why don't you go the healthy way and use the MFP tools to figure out your calorie intake and work from there? 800 calories is aT too low for,any adult to sustain on.0
-
oh this is going to be fun ...
In....for the starvation....0 -
OP - please just create a 500 cal daily deficit and work out more...this will be more sustainable in the long run....0

I did HCG for a week a year ago. I didn't have an energy, didn't go to work for a couple days because I literlly felt weak and just wanted to sleep. I always felt so hungry. Which is why it only lasted a week, and after that week I ate like total crap because I was just so hungry. In other words, don't do it, it doesn't last, the weight doesn't stay off.0

This ^^ statement alone should clue you in. Dietitians NEVER recommend below 1200 calories because it puts your body into starvation mode. The danger with this is that you lose water weight, and then you will lose muscle mass instead of fat. Your body will hold onto the fat and burn the protein. This causes a build up of ketones which are dangerous and can lead to heart damage or failure.
Please listen to everyone on here about not doing this diet. It is too dangerous, even at 800 calories. If you want to lose weight the healthy way is about 1-2 lbs a week. This is a 500-1000 calorie deficit from what you CURRENTLY eat. the only way to know what your current calorie intake is to track your normal eating for a week to get an average for Caloric intake. Then from there remove 500 calories and that is your new goal. If your at or below 2000 calories a day then the lowest you should ever drop is to 1200 calories a day.0 -
For the love of all humanity do not do this diet!!! Only eating between what 500-800 calories is not good for anyone. Stick with a sensible diet and exercise and the weight will fall off. Just don't starve yourself.0 -
I sometimes wonder if people post these types of threads just to sit back and watch the reaction?0
-
Is it bad that I wanted to save some of my pee during pregnancy to sell to people wanting to do the diet? { } <----Sarcasm brackets btw. But seriously, not willing to do a diet that relies on pregnant lady pee.0
