training app

Hey, just wondering if someone could recommend a good app for logging my weights training? Doesnt necessarily have to be free but I would like to be able to see charts etc and me able to print it out eventually.

Thank you! :)

  • Use app! Under Exercise>Cardio>Strength Training Then enter how long you trained, and how many calories you burned. I wear a simple heart monitor when I lift which gives me accurate information to enter.

Then, under Strength Training, enter your individual exercises. How many sets, reps in each set, and how much weight you used.

Jefit or Fitocracy are much more user friendly for logging weight lifting exercises IMO

Thanks for the replies guys. And sorry Bob, I should have specified that I wanted an iPhone app. And Maria, i just downloaded both these on my phone, thanks for the tip! Will have a look. Have you tried fitness buddy? Seems to be popular: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/fitness-buddy-1700+-exercise/id443646748?mt=8

One annoying thing about iPhone apps nowadas is that free apps arent really free. After using it for a while you want to use a feature but it might cost you to enable it, and buying all the features might stack up to quite a lot. Would be much fairer if the app had an initial cost that covered everything, and then maybe a free trial version. I wouldnt mind paying for a good app but not like that.

Anyway, if youve used both these apps can you tell me if Im able to get the stats and charts exported to my computer? I was looking at both websites and didnt find that... Id like to print these out and put them on my wall and to my fitness diary. Also Id like to print some out commercially with my printer print24 and I need to know if I can.

sorry about the long reply :P

I've never tried to export anything so I can't help you there.

I used Jefit first. I liked it a lot but then I found Fitocracy and I like that one better. Fitocracy has a similar community to this one and has an option to pay for some extras but I'm not interested in that. I just wanted a place to log my lifting. I've been using Fitocracy since July and haven't run into having to pay for anything extra.

    Jefit.

The free app is enough to start. I like it enough I paid for it the upgrade. Recommended.
It does not export, nor will it likely ever do so as can be seen in their forums. Aside that it's excellent.
