What's your best low-cal filling breakfast?

Mine would be a simple veggie egg white omelette.
-3 egg whites
-1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
-1 cup baby spinach
-salt pepper to taste

according to MFP it's ONLY 73 CALORIES! (sometimes I add lemon pepper and it's refreshing in the morning)

    A cup of black coffee.

No matter what I ate for breakfast I was still hungry 30 minutes later. Now I drink a cup of coffee around 7 am and am good until my first meal sometime between 11 and 12.

I love breakfast, but I am all about making it fast, and getting as few dishes dirty as possible. My favorite go to breakfast is nonfat yogurt mixed with 2T of ground flax seed and a banana on the side. In season, strawberries or blue berries are yummy too. The ground flax seed is great for cholesterol and very heart healthy.

    Where's the egg yolks? :grumble:

    I like either:
    porridge with almond milk
    or
mushroom, cheese, onion and spinach 2 egg omelette (with the yolks), works out at 337 cals and 29g of protein

If I am in a real rush or I need to save my calories for later, I will grab a Danio greek yogurt - they are 125 cals and 13g of protein, pretty good for a yogurt!

Oh - I just got this nifty microwave egg poacher. It's fast and works great. A poached egg on a piece of hot, whole wheat toast with a pat of butter and some freshly ground salt and pepper. Yum.
  • A rice cake with melted cheese - 40 cals for the rice cake, 90 cals for the cheese = 130 total calories
Sometimes I'll grab an apple too, and this will keep me full till lunch.

A breakfast that I will eat at work is a bowl of plain oatmeal, with a cut up apple, some cinnamon for taste, and a cup of green tea. I will often add some ground flax seed in it for some extra goodness.

mine might be higher in calories than the rest but it tends to keep me filled to lunch *which is usually after 1*. Also if i keep to a 300ish/300ish/600ish meal type plan it really works well.
    Belvita breakfast biscuits. 230 calories
Activia or generic pro-biotic lite yogurt. 69 calories
I make a coffee to go with it with light creamer. est: 17 calories

2 boiled eggs, that's it. 140 cals, good protein and a little fat ... keeps me satisfied til lunch. Let me try the same number, or even many more, calories worth of grains or fruit and I'm weak and shaky in 90 minutes

this sounds great. im going to go searching for one of these. i had one of these a LONG time ago. also the OP omelet sounds great but i would definitely need some cheese in it. but yum thanks for the ideas.

I have about three go tos that i use during the week. i have to be at work at 6:30 so i grab and go.

    1. Dannon light & fit greek yogurt & string cheese.
    2. Evolve 8 oz chocolate protein shake & string cheese.
    3. Smoothie: with Kale, Grapes, Banana & Almond milk. or
Protein shake: body fortress protein powder, pb2, almond milk. may add other stuff.

all keeps me full till lunch. but then again i have lunch at 10:15 am. :)

I do a smoothie with half a cup of milk, ice, what ever fruit is on hand and a scoop of vanilla protein powder, and its usually less than 250cal

or instant oatmeal (120-140cal) and a protein shake (120cal) made with half a cup of milk (50cal) = 290-330kcal
  • 2 eggs w/spinach topped with salsa, watermelon, and tea. The tea boosts your metabolism like coffee, but it also helps with bloating. I make sure to finish the tea before eating the fruit and most of the time I can't even finish the watermelon.

    250 cal.

    I'll usually have either:

2 slices of 45 calorie whole wheat toast
2 whole eggs either hardboiled (140) or pan-cooked with cooking spray (160)
Sometimes .5 tsp Smart Balance butter (40)
    Total: 230 - 290 calories

    or

2 whole eggs either hardboiled (140) or pan-cooked with cooking spray (160)
1 slice of 45 calorie whole wheat toast (sometimes)
2 Morning Star Veggie Sausage patties/links (80 cals for the links)
Sometimes .5 tsp Smart Balance butter (40)
    Total: 220 - 325

    Just tried this today:

    Blend together -
    4.8 oz Silken Tofu (68)
60 ml Almond Breeze Original almond milk (15)
    4 oz strawberries (26)
    10g sugar (38)
    Total: 147

It was super filling, going to try experimenting with adding some banana instead of just tart strawberries to help out the taste. Hoping the banana will kill the need for the sugar to make it taste palatable to me.

Another one I do, if no one has mention it yet, is a rice cake (40 cal - the lightly salted kind) and a tbsp of peanut butter. depending on the peanut butter it's about 135-145 cal for the whole thing. Enjoy!

Third of a cup of each of the following:

    Porridge oats/oatmeal
    Low fat milk
    Water
Frozen raspberries OR stewed rhubarb OR stewed apple with cinnamon

Microwave for 2 minutes and sprinkle with a teaspoon of sweetener OR brown sugar OR honey. I have this with a 200ml glass of Trop50 for a total of about 200 - 240 calories.
