I'm a full time working 100% single mother and I love to have a glass of wine at night after I've made dinner, cleaned up, got everything ready for the next day, flop on the lounge and have a glass of wine and relax.

This year, I've reduced my wine intake (mainly) to Friday-Sunday nights, but it hasn't really impeded my weight loss. It's more of a ritual and signals to me "winding down".

I've had a couple of months where I have given it up, to see if it had any effect on my rate of weight loss, and it didn't really. I don't see anything wrong with it and I'm not planning to give it up any time soon.

Spring is here (Aussie) and to me, that means switching from a Verdehlo or Sauvingnon Blanc to Rose with ice cubes, or champagne if I've got company.

    Bring it on!

“I only drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad.
Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone.
When I have company I consider it obligatory.
I trifle with it if I'm not in a hurry and drink it when I am, otherwise I never touch the stuff unless I am thirsty.”

Oh yes! I love to drink wine. I usually drink red and it is just the perfect way to wind down after a stressful day.

I love white wine, but I only have it once in a while and in moderation, or else this happens:

lol, ok I am exaggerating a bit, but I just have a couple glasses here and there.

    Oh yes, totally a fan!

I'll try to have two or three (and sometimes 5!!) glasses once a week... I plan a weeknight out and we try different types... I'm more a white fan, but I found that sometimes I'm the only one... I can do red, and I'm pretty good at drinking going to sleep and not appearing hangover the next day hahaha .

I cut back on alot of differnet foods but will not give up my wine or chocolate! By the way white and wine should not be used in the same sentence. Red and Wine go together!

To be read aloud with a French accent: "Ze only time white wine is acceptable, is when zere is no more red wine."

Yeah, I'm half French, so my love of wine is genetic.

Sadly I've cut back a lot because of calories. I used to worry that I couldn't enjoy a meal without wine, but I've adjusted! Now I only have it on weekends, and try to limit it to 2-3 glasses. When I get to my goal weight and can add a few more calories to my diet, wine will be first in line! Forget dessert, snacks, etc. Give me wine!

Allow me, then, to make a recommendation.

Look for a wine called Desiree. It is a chocolate port.

Word of advice: get a couple of baby-sized snifters (the ones that look like an egg cup), and enjoy it in small quantities. It is sinfully rich, and it is utterly delicious. I knew a sommelier who used to laugh that every time she opened a bottle, every woman in the restaurant would look straight at her like, "Whatever that is, I want it."

Dry wines don't seem to do didley squat to my energy balance. I don't even log them now. I sort of wish they could help me gain, as I'm bulking now.

    Beer is a different story.

Red wine is my biggest vice. I love it. That, combined with dark chocolate, makes me happier than anything else on the planet.

Wine makes me happy. Usually pinot grigio in the summer months (or for Sunday Funday) and reds like Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir in winter. I often find an excuse to cook with it so I can have it around!

Why do you need an excuse? I always keep at least a case in my basement...

Love reds, dry but fruit tones. Yum! I do a glass pretty much every night with dinner; sometimes two if it fits into calories.

I do. I have a glass or 2 with my dinner. At one point I was concerned if it would prevent me from getting abs.
