Comfort eating during chronic pain - looking for friends

I lost more than 50lbs using MFP a couple of years back, and have done well maintaining until recently. I took up running long distances and apparently injured my hip in some way the doctor has yet to figure out and fix. At first I fought through the pain and told myself it would get better on its own, but that hasn't happened and it's been months now. So I've gotten really depressed about it, and started eating for comfort. Honestly, it's been binge eating at times, and even as I do it I think "this won't make the pain go away, but at least I have some small bit of pleasure in this moment."
All I want is to be able to run again! That was my comfort and pleasure. But I've been instructed not to even walk too much. I have about 15lbs to lose, so it's back to counting what I eat very carefully. My goal is to lose 1lb per week, and MFP is giving me about 1,400 calories a day to do that.
I'm looking for advice and/or friends who can relate to any of the following and speak to working through it:
-running injury
-chronic pain
-comfort eating
-binge eating
-losing weight through diet because exercise is not an option

Can you work with weights on your upper body? Maybe the machines where you can sit down? I lost my first 30 something pounds with just diet. All the while having half of my thyroid taken out. When you say chronic pain, how long are we talking here? Sounds to me like you're just posting to invite people to your pity party. If you can't exercise, you can't. I'd give anything to be able to run...really run. I've had cerebral palsy since I was born (37 now) so I know a little something about chronic pain. Lift weights sitting on the bed of you have to. Just be glad you've had the experience. Move forward with what you DO have. If I can do a modified crossfit or pilates, then YOU can log your food and lose the rest.0

one thing that helped me when i injured my knee was glucosamine and chondrotine (i think i spelled it right) after a week or so i felt loads better and could run again, worth a try for less than £15
also maybe try using the eliptical, its far less pressure on the joints and still keeps cardio up.0 -

I cannot do traditional exercise do to life-long disability, one of the many things I've faced is chronic pain. I've been here 22-months and lost 101-pounds, almost all of it from counting calories.
Find exercises that you can do. Aquatic exercise, upper body work outs, yoga, pilates, etc. Basically MODIFY and ADAPT. I wouldn't have gotten where I am in LIFE (not just weight loss) without modification and adaption.0
