Help wth snacking while preparing dinner

Hi All,

No matter what I seem to do, once I get home from work and start preparing dinner, my brain says I am starving! It does not matter if I ate just before I left work or if I ate at 3pm, I really struggle not to eat anything while I am preparing dinner.

Any hints to make this easier?

Thanks,

Donna

Chew mint gum. It'll keep your mouth busy AND the mint flavor will make anything you try to nibble taste horrible.

What Schro151 said makes a lot of sense. I'm an avid gum chewer and I never nibble when preparing, I have to call the kids in for any taste tests as the mint of the gum changes the flavours too much to tell if it needs anything etc

Water water water. When this fails, I cut a raw carrot into sticks and munch on those while I'm cooking. At worst, its 30-50 calories and keeps my mouth busy. It also helps to sate my appetite before I dig into dinner.

    Good luck!
