How to firm your glutes?

Hey guys. So I just recently got active on MFP and thought I'd ask a question. I've always had a kind of flat, flabby rear end and would like to change it. I've lost about 30 pounds, I only weigh 148 and I'm about 6 feet tall. I'm wondering if it's fat or just loose skin. Should I lose more weight or try to build muscle? I'd just like to make that area more firm.
(Extra Info: I'm about 30 days into the Insanity program, do you think this will help me out?)

Brett Contreras is a guy who knows his stuff. I recently read his Strong Curves book, and it looks like an excellent program, although his writing tends to get a little long-winded. His blog repeats a lot of the stuff from the book, but you'll have to hunt around for it. Here's a good starting point on glutes:

Yup! Also my fave: stiff-legged DLs. Pretty much alls I do. Don't go to gyms or would do more.0 -

Brazilian Butt Lift!
...or boring squats, whatever.0 -
Basically what everyone else has said: weighted squats (with bars are easier instead of dumbbells), weighted lunges (dumbbells are easier for these), leg kickbacks, deadlifts, and leg curl machines work well for working the entire back of your legs. Insanity will help some, it has lots of squats and requires a lot of leg strength for a lot of moves, but the moves I listed will help specifically for your butt. I've just started doing them for the same purpose.0
