Hoping to finally do what I always say I'll do. Every season I say I'm going to get serious while it's on. Every season I fail. Here's to being positive! I'll be tuning in tonight.

I like the show but only watch it recorded.
I need to fast forward through the drama bits,
I focus on the weigh-in and 'how are they doing' segment for motivation.

    exactly.

I think out of everything about being fat, my least favorite thing is people assuming I am like most of those on the show who are crying every day about their fatness and have no life or hobbies or happiness.

I got a bunch of calories saved up for chips and ice cream tonight. :drinker: There's nothing I find more fulfilling than eating junk food in front of the Biggest Loser. Especially when Jillian starts going off on her many spiels about processed crap, (while still promoting the sponsors' processed products of course). Makes it all taste even better. Then I can yell at the TV, "How about teaching people about moderation, Jillian? Maybe mention the tiny fact that over-eating made them fat, not processed food..."

Eh, no not this time around. I'm kind of tired of it because it IS a game, more than its about people getting healthy and facing their demons. But apart from that, it's just too damn long....one hour was sufficient. I don't need to watch people work out as filler for two hours.

I may have it on in the background while I bake a cake for my department's food day tomorrow.
  • I haven't watched for a loooong time - but I'm going to this season. Really curious to see how Holley Mangold, the olympic weightlifter, does. She's my idol...hoping she doesn't disappoint - I want to see her be a total badass.

Thought I was the only one. I usually watch with a beer or a scotch, some popcorn, maybe some ice cream. A big *kitten* bowl of Captain Crunch is awesome in front on the TV.

I'm watching but....irritated with it. What use to be 2 hours...is 1 hour now. And it seems like it took them FOREVER to get this season going. They use to do two seasons a year...and I think they are down to 1 a year. Either keep it going and keep me interested....or I need to bail into some other mindless reality show.

Me too. Take away the good from it and leave the bad, like everything else.

Nothing better than Biggest Loser and a pint of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream! I appreciate the hardwork the contestants put in, but I don't care for the emotional bits about how they couldn't go to prom because they were fat, or couldnt find a husband or wife because they were fat, or didn't have friends because they were fat.....I am fat and I am married, I went to prom and had many friends who were not fat...

Wouldn't it suck to go through all that hard work of losing weight, just to find out the real reason they didn't have friends or wife/husband, is really just because their personality sucked???    Lolol

One of my favorite things to do while watching these weight loss shows is to scream at the television when one them (and they always do) breaks down in tears, "There's to crying in weight loss!" Its my way of feeling high and mighty that after almost 2 years, not once did I break down and cry...though I did shed a tear of joy when I slipped on my first pair of size 8s in 10 years.

No. What they are doing is really unhealthy. I link an interview with Kai Hibbard about what happened behind the scene, among other dehydrating and being pushed to exercise while injured.
