"The more cynical you become, the better off you'll be"

    "Carry on, don't mind me.
    All I gave was everything!
And yet you ask me for more
Fought your fight, bought your lie
And in return I lost my life
    What purpose does this serve?"

"Don't be mad, I'm just a brand new kinda me"
  • "Please, don't take this out on my cause you're the only thing that's keeping me alive. And I don't want to wait for the down set date cause I would rather end it all tonight. And if I mean anything to you, I'm sorry, but I've made up my mind."
"You're about to miss everything" - both from Bulls in the Bronx by Pierce the Veil
"I can not spend another night in the home, I close my eyes and take a breath real slow. The consequence is if I leave I'm alone but what's the difference when you beg for love?" Hell above by Pierce the veil
    "And I fail
But when I can, I will
    Try to understand
That when I can, I will

Mother weep the years I'm missing
All our time can't be given
    Back
Shut my mouth and strike the demons
That cursed you and your reasons
Out of hand and out of season
Out of love and out of feeling
    So bad

    When I can, I will
    Words defy the plan
    When I can, I will

Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this

No more promise no more sorrow
    No longer will I follow
    Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
    When I can, I will
    Try to understand
That when I can, I will " Mayonaise by the Smashing Pumpkins. I LOVE MUSIC.

Unhappy with the riches cause your piss poor morally.

    and this one

    Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're here not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need

    So many good ones...

    Pariah dogs and wandering madmen,
Barking at strangers and speaking in tongues.

    I can't remember anything,
Can't tell if this is true or dream.

Though his mind is not for rent,
    To any god or government.

Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight,
You gotta kick at the darkness til it bleeds daylight.

    Emptiness is filling me,
To the point of agony .

Quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand,
Ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand.

    And a whole lot more...

I looked on outta the window and I started countin' phone poles, goin' by at the rate of four to the seventh power. Well I put two and two together, and added twelve and carried five; come up with twenty-two thousand telephone poles an hour.

lol wow never heard that one

Obscure spoof country band named C.W. McCAll that my dad used to listen to all the time. This one is a tad more familiar (depending on your age that is):

Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Big Ben, c'mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, for sure, for sure. By golly, it's clean clear to Flag Town, c'mon. Yeah, that's a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy...

We got a great big convoy, rockin through the night.
C'mon join our convoy ain't nothin gonna stand in our way
We're gonna roll this great big convoy, across the USA..
    Convoy...

It's not at all a spoof country band! Just 70s country music. Unless you figure everything in the 70s was essentially a spoof, then I guess I could see your point.

Not at all. Just read a little about the band and found that it grew out of a commercial and was never really intended to be anything serious until the Convoy hit came along. Sort of created his own country trucker genre.

Beth Hart: Am I the One

    I sing these words
    Time and time again
    To express my life
Of being your lover and your friend
And as the clouds high above shed their tears
    I'll embrace you
With love from all your fears

Sorry, it's an entire song but the entire song is a lyric:
    Jesus was way cool

    Everybody liked Jesus

Everybody wanted to hang out with him

Anything he wanted to do, he did

    He turned water into wine

And if he wanted to He could have turned wheat into marijuana

    Or sugar into cocaine

    Or vitamin pills into amphetamines

He walked on the water And swam on the land

He would tell these stories And people would listen

    He was really cool

If you were blind or lame You just went to Jesus

And he would put his hands on you And you would be healed

    That's so cool

He could've played guitar better than Hendrix

    He could've told the future

He could've baked the most delicious cake in the world

He could've scored more goals than Wayne Gretzky

He could've danced better than Barishnikov

Jesus could have been funnier than any comedian you can think of

    Jesus was way cool

He told people to eat his body and drink his blood

    That's so cool

    Jesus was so cool

But then some people got jealous of how cool he was

    So they killed him

But then he rose from the dead

He rose from the dead, danced around Then went up to heaven

    I mean, that's so cool

    Jesus was way cool

No wonder there are so many Christians

Trooper - Raise A Little Hell

    If you don't like
    What you got
    Why don't you change it
If your world is all screwed up
    Rearrange it

    Raise a little Hell ...

If you don't like what you see
    Why don't you fight it
If you know there's something wrong
    Why don't you right it

    Raise a little Hell ...

In the end it comes down to your thinking
And there's really nobody to blame
When it feels like your ship is sinking
And you're too tired to play the game

    Nobody's going to help you
You've just got to stand up alone
    And dig in your heels
    And see how it feels
To raise a little Hell of your own

    Raise a little Hell ...
