Grain of salt here... because I'm horribly out spoken about my personal performances- I don't tolerate being told- shamed or mocked into doing something.

I usually whip out my phone and find said drink and figure out if it fits or not.

Then I make a decision- am I going over today- or am I going to hold to the line. My weekly goal is more important than my daily- but obviously there must be a general TREND in order for this to be true. ...so if I haven't been working out- I often will skip said drink. Or if I have to drive- I skip said drink- even one. But if I've been super busy running around- working out- don't have to drive far- I may bite.
Kind of depends on how much I ate earlier-if I ate a crap load- no I won't. If I ate a moderate dinner- I'l have a beer. I usually only have a drink ever other week- I just do NOT drink that much.

But I don't drink much- and I don't go out much- and I don't let my friends bully me- so I do what I want. i have a beer if I want one- or I don't.

I was always of the belief that I'd rather enjoy my life than be thin and miserable.

With that said, if I know that I am going out, I will hit the elliptical for more than the normal time or do an extra long video at home. I have a HRM so as I work out, I look down and think to myself "Oh yah baby! Just earned myself another rum and coke".

It's all about making it work!

. For example: I love Kahlua. One shot/one ounce is 90 calories. I forgo the cream and have it with coffee and lots of ice instead now. or a if you like beer go for the lighter options like bud select, etc. :-)

My love is for tequila and margarita! I find that the I make the best margarita anyway. Restaurant usually water down sour mix and extra sugar. Now I see a lot of skinny version available at the restaurant so that does help.

Ordering the shot probably is a good idea so I don't gulp it down. Good tequilas is usually ment to be sipped.

I love dancing too, thanks for suggestion!

I tend to be more of a big picture guy...going out and having some beers with my buddies on occasion isn't going to derail or otherwise impact anything at all. I've lost 40 Lbs while managing to enjoy myself...going out for drinks...indulging on holidays and special occasions, etc. You have to remember that these events are "occasions"...they aren't your every day. It's all about what you are doing 80% - 90% of the time...what you do 10% of the time is largely irrelevant to the whole.

I politely decline, and if asked say that it's part of a temporary dietary restriction, but I look forward to joining in the future.

I count, before if there are definate plans and after if we're just going with the flow.

Socialising is part of my life and i'm sure as hell not going to pause my life just to lose weight.. it's just a slower process BUT i haven't had to give anything up OR turn down seeing my friends because i'm scared to gain this week.
