Is my calorie amount too high?

I know it's difficult to say but, I was wondering 1440 calories a day when my activity is set to sedentary and not eating back exercise cals is too high to lose weight?
My stats are
18
5'6"
121lbs
Student (so alot of sitting
Tuesday 30 mins stretching 1 hour aerial silks
Thursday ditto
Friday leisurely climbing for at least 90 minutes
Saturday about an hour long walk
Sunday another walk and harder climbing for 90 minutes
Do you think I'm eating too much? I only want to drop about 10 lbs.

Have you eaten that amount (measuring and weighing accurately) consistently for at least a month and found you haven't lost weight?

    If yes then yes.

    If no then 'who knows'.

You're certainly not eating too much, and I would say youre already at a healthy weight, and losing any might be harmful!

You are an 18 year old female who is recovering from an ED?

    Your BMI is 19.5

    Normal weight BMI is 18.5-24.9

As you are recovering from an ED and have been following an unhealthy diet as recently as last week, I suggest you up your calories (a lot) and look to maintain healthily rather than losing.

    *My 2 cents.

PS--I am 5'6", 10 years older than you, office job, and lose at 1700 cal/day, eating back my exercise calories. So no, there's no way 1440 is too many calories for you, unless you have totally screwed over your metabolism (and if so it should return to normal after some time of normal eating).

According to your TDEE calculator, you could eat up to 1800 calories and still drop weight.

This is a complicated question. If you are recovering, 1440 might be a good amount as your metabolism finds its groove again. I deff wouldn't suggest going lower than 1440 though...
  • Thanks everyone :)
  • I had my gastric sleeve surgery about 5 months ago and I wanted to get peoples comments about calories consumed.
