The Beginning

I am a healthy 25 y/o. I eat pretty good most of the time but I do mindlessly snack and eat junk frequently. I want to adopt an even healthier lifestyle by really paying attention to what I am eating (nothing obssesive!) and working out habitually with evolving goals.
Part of me is a afraid to express this to my boyfriend, friends, family, and coworkers. I'm not exactly sure why, but how I take care of my health has always been a personal thing for me and I never really talked about it or made it apparent that health is hugely important and interesting to me! I am hesitant because of the possible lack of support or the reactions/judgements of others.
How did the beginning of your journey go?

I noticed that the further along I got with my journey, the more I wanted to talk about it, which is why these forums are great! When I'm in a good mode and being dedicated to fitness and eating right, I'm excited about it. I feel like I kind of censor myself to some extent, discussing such things with people who are clearly fit, who I get the sense are also interested. But I did get some not-so-supportive reactions from people who don't work out or watch what they eat. Nothing horrible, but subtle stuff. On the other hand, letting your boyfriend and family know what you're doing may be helpful in staying motivated and getting support. You probably know intuitively who will be helpful and who will be ... not so helpful, lol. Best of luck!0

I personally find it is easier not to discuss this with people. It takes the pressure of people watching to see are you keeping your good habits up. I am the same, for me it is very personal, so when someone notices my weight loss without knowing that I have been trying, it is the biggest reward.0
