Eating more and Increased Hunger

I was eating way too low of calories for a couple years and working out way too much for how much I was eating. The past few weeks I've slowly increased my calories. I'm now eating 200-300 calories more a day than I was a few weeks ago, and planning on going up a few hundred more over time.
Ever since increasing this small amount I've been so incredibly hungry, all the time.
Is this a sign my metabolism is recovering? Or what? Its' driving me nuts!

I was like this when I increased my calories too. Wanted to eat everything in sight. The constant hunger went away within maybe two weeks for me.
I took it as my body saying, "OMFG SHE'S FINALLY EATING SUFFICIENT AMOUNTS!!! Get her to eat as much as possible while the going is good!"0 -
I'd guess this is some basic, ancient response from your body. We're programmed to eat as much as possible when food is available (going back to our prehistoric hunter/gatherer times) so your body probably thinks that it's suddenly a time of plenty and wants to take advantage of it while it can.0
