updating my gym, thinking on buying this...

http://www.powerblock.com/prod_homeuse_XXXL-125GymPackage.php thoughts?

Right now my gym is the outdoors mostly, I do have some dumbbells ranging from 2lb to 35lb, Yoga/Pilates mat, & a Stability ball.

For that kind of money, I'd look into a power rack. $1200 for a bench and adjustable weights is insane to me. Check Craigslist too - people don't have room for some equipment and need to get rid of it.
  • I'd get squat stands, a nice bar, some bumper weights and an adjustable bench for that money.

Why not get a pull-up bar and do calisthenics? $50 (or a couple hundred for a serious setup) and you're good to go!

    ^^^ This.
I bought some used equipment on Craigslist (Rack, Olympic bar and weights for under $300) .. Not saying you're guaranteed to find an insanely great deal .. but a really good deal is still likely. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I already do calisthenics for the most part, I would like to add some heavier strength training to my routine. I liked these weights because less time and energy spent trying to rack and set up weights between sets etc.

thanks everyone for your input. I will check Craigslist before dishing out the big dough lol

sold all my lifting stuff 2 years ago, they opened a gym 1/2 a block from my house, 10 dlls a month. I assume you do not have this option. then x3 on craigslist or yard sales!
