How long in one program before changing

Some friends and I have started a boot camp of sorts for 8 weeks. One of the friends is on her second 8 week program. It is a good workout since we are all pretty out of shape. However, we do the same warm up, workout and cool down three times a week. Can we continue to do this program 3 or 4 times or should we switch to a different workout to work other muscles? We stretch with an exercise ball, use hand weights and use 50 lb bands with a partner.

Thanks for any insight.

When you reach a plateau it is time to change. I know some that constantly change to keep it interesting. But at the very least you change when you no longer see improvement or feel challenged.

You can keep the same basic premise, but I'm assuming things are probably already getting easier in some places. The same warm up & cool down is fine, and you can add more reps to the exercises for a little while, but eventually you are going to need to keep making them harder by adding weight or changing to a more difficult movement.

If the program is balanced (hits all major muscle groups), then don't stop until you stop seeing results (also, make sure you are constantly increasing the weight you are lifting, or increasing the number of reps. One of those two should change every single week). Consistency is key when it comes to making progress. Switching up your routine every 2 weeks won't help you out.

Okay. Good to know. I started with 3lbs now doing 5lbs so I can add more weights each week.
