Anyone turning 60 in the next year?

Hi Friends!

Last January when I turned 59 I came up with a big plan to lose one pound a week for 52 weeks so I would be at a "normal" weight when I turned 60. I had been quite obese for over 20 years, so this was a monumental goal. I had a "This is it! Now or never!" feeling. It was time to come out of denial and finally get fit and healthy. I want to live to 100, so "My Last 40 Years" starts when I turn 60. I named this year "The Prequel," made a chart on excel, and started. I am very proud to say that in 38 weeks I have lost 38 pounds, so I am right on track. I have 15 lbs to go to hit the high end of "normal" on the BMI chart.

If this idea catches anyone else's fancy, I would love to have some company! I know I am 3/4 of the way through my "prequel," but I promise I will stick around and support you until you acheive your goal as well.

  • Congratulations on your weight loss!! I am in awe of the way you've done it - setting a reasonable goal, and keeping AT it!! I turned 60 in August of this year. JeanZ

    Congratulations :flowerforyou:

What a great year for you with another 40 at least to enjoy and look forward to.

At 55 I am also thinking I need to be in shape to enjoy my future.

Thanks Pam and Jean! It is good to hear support as it is getting harder to lose the weight each week. Thanks! Feel free to friend me. shari
