A corned beef reuben is my favorite sandwich but sandwiches are my favorite food so I could go on for hours about sandwiches I love. Unfortunately I don't get to eat many sandwiches anymore now that I'm on a diet :(

Lol now WHO would ever think of such a thing!

Bacon sarnie wins hands down, closely followed by a sausage one. I used to love a fried egg and sausage one, changed it to poached to lower the cals, and then to whole wheat english muffin instead of white bread. Then worked out I am allergic to eggs. So bye bye yummy sammich. My DS loves and would live on PB and Nutella if I let him.

    So many!

    - A good caprese, particularly if heated. Add prosciutto for salty love.

    - Tuna melt - particularly if it's low on grease

    - Grilled cheese with ham and tomato - reminds me of my Granddad <3

and my all time no. 1:

    - Turkey, bacon and avocado with sprouts and a tiny touch of onion on dry wheat toast

    eta: do lobster rolls count

Reuben sammiches are my favorite personally. I do like brisket sammich too though.

But in a time pressed situation, back in US I used to keep some pastrami, mustard, cheese and bread to make a quick sammich with lots of cheese and pastrami. Also, nutella + cream cheese sammich aren't bad.

I only eat ONE of these at a time, and only during Elvis Week to honor the King.

Elvis Presley's Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
    Ingredients

    ◦2 slices of white bread
◦2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
    ◦1 small ripe banana mashed
    ◦2 tablespoons butter

    Instructions

Spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and the mashed banana on the other. Press the slices gently together. Melt the butter (or to be truly Elvis-like, melt bacon fat!), over low heat in a small frying pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides. Eat it with a glass of buttermilk.

Please note: Elvis tended to eat 12-15 sandwiches a sitting! So belly up!

If I am being health-conscious, my favourite is turkey, havarti, butter lettuce, tomato, and onion on whole wheat with light mayo and mustard.

If I can have anything I want, GIVE ME A REUBEN! Tons of meat, cheese, saurkraut, mustard, and pickles on toasted rye. Mmmmm....

During the week, instead of peanut butter sandwiches I make cookie butter sandwiches. So yummy, it's like dessert for lunch.
If it's at a restaurant, I love me a pulled pork sandwich. Or some kind of grilled chicken with cheese, mayo and bacon.

I like ham and swiss also, toasted until the cheese is melted. Even better with a fried egg on top.

    ^^^THAT IS AN EPIC SAM!!^^

Turkey Day is around the bend, so that means (or meant :ohwell: ) Fresh turkey with Hellmans's and my stuffing plus a titch of cranberry sauce on fresh seeded Russian rye. With a half-sour pickle. Ba-Tampte Means Tasty:glasses:

Also my pot roast with fresh onion and arugula and mayo on the same Russian rye. And a half-sour pickle.

My husband is the Grilled CheeseMeister. So grilled combo of Land O'Lakes and cheddar, tomato and a thin slice of good ham on sourdough is mighty good. With a cuppa Campbell's Tomato Soup. And a half-sour pickle.

His other knockout is a Land O'Lakes/fresh mutz combo with garlic butter spread on the inside and a slice of tomato with a couple leaves of basil on good Italian bread. Another Ba-Tampte on the side.

I also had an incredible breakfast sam yrs ago and have never tried to imitate it. It was a toasted bagel with cream cheese, a thin slice of red onion, bacon, tomato and lettuce. It was sooo good. Guess I'm afraid to mess with the memory:smile:

Tuna made with original hummus, celery, onion, lemon juice, garlic, pepper. On Ezekial bread with avocado, lettuce and tomato... OH YES! Yes it's healthy but it really is YUMMY! Of course I love anything with hummus and avocado, except peanut butter.. I like that with jam or honey! :)

Hard to say, and it depends on where it is coming from.

A well made Reuben rocks especially open faced with heaps of corned beef...

    l.jpg

Then again, there is nothing like a nice Chicago style combination Italian Beef/Sausage (with giardiniera of course)

    20130826-263916-giardiniera-sandwiches-johnnies-italian-beef-thumb-500xauto-347860.jpg

But somedays, only a nice thick gyros will do....

    I can't believe I forgot the gyro.
