I'm actually finding it harder to eat lately and to actually REACH close to my daily calories now that I'm counting them lol.
I'm also still picking days where I break free of my "healthy food only" regime and eat junk food. I will never stop eating junk food, but will make sure to count calories and portions <3.

Yup. That's why I gained over 120 pounds lol. I am still obsessed but I think in a more positive way. I will always be a food lover though. I enjoy counting my calories and figuring out what I will eat every day.

It went away when I stopped vilifying food or food groups, severely restricting calories and gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted in whatever quantity I wanted. I learned to listen to my body and trust it to want to be healthy.

I need to be obsessed with planning what to eat. It is so easy for me lately to stop and get fast food and eat in the car. If I don't change that habit now, I'll never reach my goal weight!!

Cute comment being so obsessed with food that you eat several times a day. When I was 20 years old, I forgot to eat or didn't take the time to eat all day. Now that I am 40 years older, I never forget about food.

    Everyday, 600 something days later.

Lately, it's been trying to get rid of simple sugars because the endo doesn't want me to have it anymore (I'm not insulin resistant thankfully) and sadly it's the one thing I have been binging on as of late.

I will get better, and eventually figure it out, but it is always a work in progress.

I've always been obsessed with food. Now, I just channel that obsession into something that's going to benefit me -- planning, logging, tracking.

Yes after 40 years I have made peace with food. I had a therapist, joined OA, consulted a nutritionist, and prayed daily. Your obsession can and will go away, but you will need to make substitutions to fill the void. Start with making tiny changes and gradually changing your habits.

Change the thought and you will change your words.
Change your words and you change your actions.
Change your actions and you change who you are.

YES. Food is my friend and I just love it. Even when I'm full if I see something that looks tasty, I still want to eat some of it.
Since I've been on this site I've figured out how to spread my food out over the entire day so I stay within my calories but don't feel deprived.
