Help with muscle pain

Back in June, after a long run(long for me, 5 miles, typical run was about 3), I had some major pain in the top right side of my right thigh. It came on a couple hours after my run and it seemed more like hip pain, almost like my hip was out of socket. Toward the end of the day and into the next day when I would stand up for a sitting position, I could barely put weight on my leg to walk and it was very painful. I cooled down my work out routine and took it easy, made a chiropractor appointment, and went about my life. The pain went away within a week and I seemed back to normal, but I still didn't go back to working out as hard as I had been.

The pain is back and it has been hit and miss the last month. It is mostly when I stand up from sitting or laying down, and takes it a couple minutes to work itself out so I am not limping while trying to walk.

Not sure where I go from here, yes probably the doctor but I was wondering if anyone had any advice about what this pain could be? I have run and walked and I don't have any pain while doing those activities. Mainly just when standing from a sitting position is the pain.

Any thoughts?

Could be a hip flexor issue. Google that and see if it sound right. I have issues and find yoga stretching exercises help plus I get it when I run and start to get tired. My foot will start to turn in and that really aggravates it so it's also my being mindful of maintaining form.

Thank you, I think you were right about the hip flexor. I found some stretches which I think has helped quite a bit. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
