I took them for the first 3 months when i decided to get healthy. I also at the same time, learned to eat properly and exercise. I took myself off of them before the scrip even ran out because i felt it did its job....it gave me the jump start i needed.

At one point in Feb i went thru a terrable sugar binge ( cake) that lasted for a week. I went back on them for 10 days and got that craving out of my system and then i didnt have a problem again until a couple months ago when i lost my job and had some stress issues. I went back to cake . The Dr. said i could go back on them for 2 wks to get it out of my system and get back on track. So i have about 4 days left. I have had cake and cupcakes in the house in that time and never looked twice at them.

It does take away the hunger but , i wasent taking them to lose weight so i continued to keep eating my 1500-1700 cals a day and working out. I still lost 2 lbs this week. the side effects DO SUCK. they are tolerable to me but, i find the worse side effects in the 2 weeks after i am done taking it. It does cause me severe exhaustion while it gets out of my system. Its basically like speed and you go thru withdrawel. After this i wont put my body thru it again. I dont like not feeling like myself.

I lost 35 lbs on it and the other 43 on my own. So i know i can do it by myself.....but its a useful tool to get the cravings out of your system.

For those of you who say you gain it all back, that is because you didnt learn how to eat properly when you started taking it. You have to change all your habits. I never gained any weight back from stopping it. I dont regret taking it either. Some people will use it for a quick fix and that is all it will be if you arent planning on changing your lifestyle.

I was on it for 2 months and lost 25lb. Took the time to change my life style and now a year later still 60lb lighter. I had no side effects lucky I guess.

OP, to find more on folks that have used it, use the search function at the top right.

I was taking it, and I had problems with the dizziness too, evevn after I quit taking them, although it was worse when I did take them. Figured out I was drinking too much caffeine. Caffeine and stimulants don't go well together, FYI. Lol. Since adipex is a form of methamphetamine, like the ADHD medications, they will give you a rebound hunger when you're off of them. My son used to take ADHD meds, and as skinny as he was, they would suppress his appetite a lot, and as soon as I took him off of them, he would eat like a horse. I love taking the adipex, just for the energy, but it's not worth the rebound hunger it causes when I quit taking them. They did help get me to really get in to fitness, and kick off my weight loss quite a bit. If you're having withdrawals, you may need to wean yourself off of them. Also, if you're a big coffe drinker, like me, you may need to cut it down, since you're feeling so anxious.

I started adipex exactly two years ago, I was closely monitored by my Dr. She only allowed me to be on it for 4 months, in that 4 months I had amazing success.... I lost 50+ pounds, went from a size 16-18 to a size 8-10 Never felt better. I was off it for about a year and had gained about 10 pounds back, so back in January I went to another Doc and he put me back on it, I lost 15 pounds right away, then it stopped working....No longer had the energy, was starting to get hungry again etc. Even tho I was losing literally only a pound a month, I stayed on it until June 10th 2013.... The day I had my heart attack..... 41 years old healthy mother of 5..... Now I am scheduled to go to the U of M hospital Nov 26, 2013 to see a specialist because I have Aorta Stenosis caused by a valve problem from Adipex... Possibly looking at open heart surgery to replace the valve...
Please be careful when taking this drug, I loved it and now I am paying the price.... I am no longer able to exercise because I have to keep my heart rate under 100 bpm...
I lived with all the crazy side effects because I was losing weight and it was worth it.... or was it?
Hoping to live to see my children graduate and have babies of their own....

Is what works, think of the pill as a big help ..not a salution ..
Dont rely on it .....u have to eat good on and off the. Pull makes
it soooo easy to starve ur self ..its hard to eat on it but if u dont

I have been on Adipex since 2006. I have gone from 200 to 141 pounds. The past 3 years I go from 141 to 168 which I am at right now. I have decided to stop Adipex this past Sunday. Today Friday 1/24/2014 I feel like I am having withdrawal systems.
My heart is racing and I feel light headiness and pains in my chest a bit. Adipex help me not eat as much. never gave me energy.
All I want to do is sleep. I am starting to worry a bit. has anyone else been on this for this long? Yes my doctor in Kentucky has been giving this to me you don't have to start or stop it in this state.

I was on adipex and it did wonders for me the first day I started them I felt as though I drank to much coffee after that I was fine I went from 145 to 109 and I maintained my weight however the side affect I had with them was hair loss my hair was past my shoulders when I first started them and then my mother in law noticed my hair getting really thin and I nearly went bald I stop taking them gained my wight back needless to say even more than before I took them but my hair is back to the middle of my shoulders and starting to get full again!...If there was not the side effects I'd recommend them to everyone but I think there are to many different side effects they just effect us all differently!..
