Anyone struggle to lose while doing everything right??

Hi,
I have been on the site, tracking my food and exercise as closely as is possible (as far as exact calorie count in food and calories burned in exercise).
I'm 52, 177 pounds, 5' and miserable!!
I used to weigh 130 and was very fit. In 11/2 years I gained 61 pounds.
I exercise daily and am working on becoming vegan. I have been vegetarian for about 10 years or so but had a carb and sugar addiction.
Now I eat as healthy and raw as I can. Nothing processed, no sugar and lots of veggies.
I have been to an endocrinologist but no medical reasons why I can't lose any more weight. In the past year I go up and down between 174 and 186. I eat between 1200 and 1500 calories/day and exercise at least an hour/day.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Being a vegetarian would be very difficult for me. Make sure you're getting plenty of lean protein from nuts or beans. Remember muscle burns more calories than fat. Try some strengthening exercises, not just cardio. I found that this helps me look better. I try not to look so much at the weight, but by my dress size and the tone of my body. Good luck! No. If you're not losing weight, you're not doing everything right.
you may think you are, but you aren't. Perhaps there are more factors that you aren't aware of, or maybe you've been mislead by popular marketing ploys/headlines, or maybe your expectations are out of whack, or maybe you're eating more than you think, or any of a dozen other reasons.

Can you open your diary please? Are you logging your food or are you estimating how many calories you are eating. As the above poster said...there can be so many reasons for this.0 -
This is a subject I know well. Let me just say I sympathize with you. There are many factors that make a HUGE difference.
My weight likes to hold on for dear life.
I have struggled with weight issues for the past 20+ yrs.
Here are some key things:
I am currently working with a dietician and a trainer at a local gym.
The equation is 80 % is food / 20% is exercise.
If one does NOT track the food - believe you ME - it has a great impact on the weight loss equation..we just do not remember all the little extras and THEY add up in a week.
Also water - I was told to aim for 2 litres a day - even better try for 3 litres.
I think one of the BIG differences for me regarding exercise is staying consistant - 3 times min a week - but am incorporating Strength Training - so therefor building muscle. THey say this is key as more muscle mass means burning more calories even at rest. So a combo of strength training and at least 3 times cardio / per week.
So... in closing - Journaling - keeping track of food - good food choices - I am not eating carbs past lunch time - this seems
to be huge.
Water - 2-3 litres daily
Exercise - min 3 times week - more even better - strength training + cardio.
Hope this helps.. I know how frustrating this can be.
Since June I am down 16 inches and 21 lbs..this is huge for me.. slow going, but I am told this is the healthy way to do it.

Thanks so much for all of the replies!! I think I have to try and balance my meals better. I eat extremely well and mostly veggies but don't make sure I get as much protein and carbs as I need. Water is another problem. After my coffee in the morning, I don't drink as much as I should. I aim to drink a lot but have so much trouble getting it down.
I exercise every day. I have a horse and dogs who keep me active. I live in the country and walk my dogs every day in a trail in the woods, consisting of hills, obstacles and very rough terrain for walking. I also have a new puppy who isn't ready for the woods yet so walk her on the road. I have a home gym with weights, trampoline, treadmill and a WII I enjoy dancing to. While I don't ride my horse any more, I visit her every day to groom her.
I think another problem is that I am obsessed with the scale. I haven't taken the time to measure myself but probably should because my belt is now on third hole, almost ready to go to the fourth hole from the first a few weeks ago.

It looks like you've gotten all the information you were looking for …. however I'd like to suggest just one more …. weigh and measure your food.
I also have gone up and down within the same 10 pounds for many years … and have been careful about the food and journalized and exercised but was not getting anywhere. Then I started to actually use a scale and measuring cups/spoons when I serve myself. It has made a big difference!

I will definitely try that. Thank you!!! I'm losing slowly and maybe comparing to when I was younger and could lose 10 lbs in a week with little effort. I likely need to be more patient.
