Ok so I'm very seriously considering signing up for another half marathon (just did my first one in October)........... in FEBRUARY........ in NEW HAMPSHIRE. Now back story, I hate the cold.... absolutely cannot stand it. So I have no idea why I feel this drive to sign up and do it. Maybe it's beacuse it's so outside my comfort zone and I'm looking for something to drive my training. But anyway... if I do this, I need some help.
Can anyone recommend some good cold gear that's not wildly expensive?? I'm talking running tights, gloves, jackets/longsleeve shirts, socks. Much appreciated!

I'm not a runner, but I get all of my workout gear at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's. They have great brands for super low prices.0

Try Target, I've gotten great workout stuff there.0

I don't prefer to run in the cold either, but I feel SO good afterwards...
One of my favorite items: Eddie Bauer convertible gloves/ mittens. They provide that coziness of mittens but don't restrict you from easily using your fingertips (e.g., for mp3 player/ phone manipulation).
I got mine at an EB outlet. I think I paid $15-$20 for them. Well worth it IMO...

Champion PowerCore is decent from Target. Other than that, get a decent wind resistent jacket and plan on LAYERING!!!!! I use cheap stretchy gloves as my gloves invariably become defacto snot rags as I run. I have many many pair!!0

TJ Maxx and Marshalls always have great stuf on the cheap.0

You might need Yaktrax or something similar for running on snow and ice.0

I was just about to post a similar question! I live in Minnesota and hate the cold but would rather run outside than on a treadmill.
Does anyone recommend certain shoes? I don't think my summer ones will work because I can feel the air move through them! Brr!0 -
I live in New Hampshire, so I really know the cold. I highly recommend merino wool socks - like Darn Tough. There expensive but they keep your feet sooo warm! You can find them for half price at Marshall's0

You totally need to do it! I'm doing it! It's going to be fun! Soup, chocolate and beer! If you like those things, which I do.
So I do a sports tank, tight fitting long sleeve tee and a micro fleece, hat, gloves and running tights. Generally if my chest is completely covered and my lungs are warm I don't need to cover my mouth. In single digits I have been known to wear regular tights under my running tights with my regular socks over. It works, but I've tried it plenty of times.
My winter stuff comes from target or sierra trading post or campmor, usually get good deals at these places.0
