Hello! My name is Sam im 20 years old 120lbs 5"6 im not trying to lose weight, more so be healthy. I have always been naturally thin so when i don't work out i tend too look too thin, but im never underweight.. I currently workout 5-6 days a week for an hour each day. I work as an Inside Sales rep at a big company; I drive 45 mins every day to work and 45mins on the way home so craming in workingout and making a nice big meal for dinner is really hard. . I have decided that i am going to try and run my first half marathon this upcoming summer. I have been working out now for about 3 weeks and i still can only run a little more than a mile i also do strength training, i have become very much toned but seem to not gain any weight? . I also have been trying to eat healthier but i am still new to it so all advise would be great! Feel free to add me; i need all the help i can get

Wow, we have a lot in common haha! My name is also Sam, and I have an hour long commute to work both days - if I work out, I'm often EXTREMELY hungry on the way home (I have a gym membership for a place near my work) and don't end up eating until late... if I can manage not to scarf anything I can find as soon as I walk in the kitchen. I also do community theater which takes up a lot of time and doesn't always support healthy eating (slice of coffee cake and a giant cup of coffee from the co-op next door is totally great theater fuel lol). I'd love to be friends!0

hey Sam! Welcome aboard! Don't worry about not seeing progress right away. If you're new at something it'll take time to build up to where you want to be ( running 1 mile to 13.1 in your half marathon). I'd say you should run as much as your body feels it can do try to build from there. If you feel good/wanna do more, go for it and vice versa. As you become more comfortable, you'll start making strides in no time!
Also, you won't gain any weight unless you are eating more calories than you are burning but that sounds like it's what you are going for?0 -

i know what you mean! LOL i am starving on the way home from work and i find it very difficult to workout like that. I started bringing in 2 meals to work everyday, 1 big lunch and a smaller pre-dinner ( plus snacks) so i eat at 11am and then again at 4pm ( i get off at 5) then again after my workouts ( im a hungry beast). Trying to eat on very little time is hard, but i found my slower cooker comes in handy a lot, by the time i get home its ready to be eaten so no waiting.0
