I am an Administrative Assistant for an sub contracting engineering firm. I am lucky enough that they have their Admins set up in home offices so I get to be home with my family all day. I have a 5 year old (Wyatt) who will be in Kindergarten next fall, 7 year old (Xavier, 2nd grade) who are the apples of my eye. I also am a proud wife to my awesome husband Scott. He is my soul mate, my rock and my best friend. Through him I am blessed to have another extended family. His daughter Cecily is 19 and has high spectrum autism. She is just wonderful and I love her to pieces. With her comes her Mom whom I also adore (strange I know).
So when I am not working 50+ hours a week as an Admin, I am also housekeeper, cook, nursemaid, teacher, wife, mother, counselor and finding time to get healthy.... so .... anyone have about 15 hours a day I can borrow!?0 -

First and foremost, I am the proud mommy of the most amazing 2 year old daughter, and the lucky wife of a sexy and supportive man. I've been married for 7 and a half years, but we've been together since I was 15 years old. We celebrated the 13th anniversary of our first date in July. I am a Veterinary Technician in a hectically busy 24 hour emergency animal hospital. I'm starting school in the spring for Psychology. I feel compelled to work with overweight children and their families to try to help put a stop to the childhood obesity epidemic. I am also heavily involved in a local animal rescue organization and provide a foster home to animals in need (mostly puppy mill survivors and those that need some extra medical support before being adopted out to a forever home).0

What a fascinating thread-so many different careers listed. I am (close to) 54 year old transplanted Canadian, living in the States for 15 years now- wife to my best friend, who was recently separated from his company after 10 years due to a buyout. I have 2 bonus daughters and 4 grandhildren (16, 9, 5 and 3). I am the Sr Manager of a Support Desk for IT applications in a large eCommerce company. I love my job and am about to enter my busiest time of year where my average work week will escalate to about 80 hours a week. I just hope to be able to keep up some sort of exercise regime during this time.0

I am soooooo loving this thread! Its fun to read what everyone does and to see the various family dynamics!
I'm a married mother of two boys ages 12 (previous marriage) and 23 months and have been married almost 2 years (I tend to do things backwards). I have a bachelor's degree in nutrition (late bloomer) and completed my post graduate internship this past May. Currently I'm studying for my registration exam, spending lots of time with my boys (my oldest says he doesn't remember the days before I started college...that makes me sad), and incorporating this new lifestyle so that I can be a better example to others. Gotta walk the walk if I'm gonna talk the talk! My long term goal is to become certified in Adult and Childhood Obesity Management. My hubby is my BFF and works in website design....he is brilliant and I adore him!
