Walking on treadmill

Walking like that is good, however you walk all the time in life so just paying for a gym to walk on a treadmill , please don't take offense but it is plain stupid. Doing that incline walk as a warm up before you hit some weights and machines is great and follow it all up with another incline walk like you did at the beginning and that is great. But those who drive me nuts in a gym are the walkers all they do is hit the treadmill for 45 min and do nothing else.

Thank you :) My mother has severe nerve damage in her lower body and can barely walk, but we had a treadmill for a short time because she could hold on and walk at her own pace. You wouldn't believe how judgemental the world is of someone walking slowly outside if they have a disability, so it's a safe place.0 -
Just a quick note:
When walking on an incline, if one is having to hold on, then either the speed is too fast or the incline is too high. Holding on reduces 30%-50% of the resistance and one is only fooling themselves and getting inaccurate calorie burns when doing it. Hands free.

I see people walking on the treadmill and just think, "why?"You don't know what peoples' fitness level or goals are. 3 MPH may not be enough of a workout for you, but it may be just fine for others.
Totally this ^^^^ ... I happen to walk at 3 MPH and I am totally fine with it. I cannot run on the treadmill .. so suck it up sunshine. Yes I will use up that valuable treadmill space .... as that's just how it works.0 -
Walking can be great exercise! Too, there's nothing "stupid" about joining a gym to use the treadmill. If that's what it takes, then power to you! Let the naysayers move on in their own way and keep walking!0

OP if you're getting a decent heart rate and it feels challenging for your current level of fitness and you enjoy it, then just do it. If it stops being challenging enough you can switch it up for something else.
That's it. Go for something you enjoy, get the heart rate up,and don't worry about the science.0
